| Game | Tier | # Plays | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dominion | S+ | 500+ | My favorite game, each play is unique and it’s perfectly strategic. Best as 1v1 played on dominion.games, irl takes way longer |
| Brass Birmingham | S+ | 3 | #1 on BGG for a reason, great ratio of strategy + tactics + player interaction |
| Sigil | S | 10+ | A bit like chess/go but easier to pick up, best played with a chess timer |
| Race for the Galaxy | S | 8 | Best tableau builder, pure and tight. Art leaves a lot to be desired though; currently redesigning! |
| Terraforming Mars | S | 4 | Great engine builder, lots of mechanics and stuff going on but it ties together well. Sort of “multiplayer solitaire” but I personally don’t mind |
| Hegemony | S | 2 | Really fun asymmetric economic/political game, pretty unique |
| Age of Steam | S | 2 | Mechanically simple and elegant but strategically complex, super fun interaction and scaling, rulebook sucks though tons of ambiguities |
| Greylune | S | 1 | Best overall worker placement, really unique usage of workers |
| Gudnak | A+ | 5 | Really cool + quick deck construction / card battler, just can take a while to set up decks, awesome art, 1v1 is best |
| Agricola | A+ | 2 | Best classic worker placement game |
| El Grande | A+ | 1 | The best proper area control game |
| The Old King’s Crown | A+ | 1 | Art is great and very cool combat mechanics, interesting asymmetry, overall a great play |
| Crew: Mission Deep Sea | A | 10+ | Fun quick cooperative trick-taking, not a primary game though usually just a few quick rounds |
| Spirit Island | A | 4 | Really good game but takes too long and not as satisfying as competitive games |
| Pax Pamir | A | 2 | Cool and very unique, feels a bit random but might just need more plays to grasp the strategy |
| Wroth | A | 1 | Fun dice drafting area control, asymmetric factions not fully balanced though |
| AEGIS | B | 2 | Very cool tactical skirmish but combining mechanic feels weak, doesn’t match my preferred style of games |
| Dune Imperium | B | 5 | Used to be my group’s favorite game but takes a really long time and is too RNG due to intrigues |
| Tyrants of the Underdark | B | 4 | Combines deckbuilding and area control, two amazing mechanics, but execution/balance is lackluster |
| Azul | B | 4 | Simple but surprisingly strategic with super direct player interaction |
| Scythe | B | 3 | Liked it at first you can do some planning and engine but the board barely matters and too much going on, scoring medley |
| Container | B | 1 | Super unique economic game but strategy very unintuitive and personally not a huge fan |
| 7 Wonders | C | 7 | Quick and fun + scales to higher player counts, very tactical rather than strategic though |
| Decorum | C | 6 | Best at 2p played with a partner |
| 5-Minute Dungeon | C | 5 | Fun fast-paced cooperative game, easy to pick up for people that don’t play games |
| Blood Rage | C | 3 | Fun with lots of combat + interaction but scoring is swingy and feels like it doesn’t match how the game is actually going |
| Viticulture | C | 2 | Everyone is kind of doing the same thing / has the same strategy |
| Eschaton | C | 1 | Another deckbuilding + area control but not very balanced/polished, great art |
| Oath | C | 1 | Great art and cool mechanics but too random for how long it takes / how complicated it is |
| Gizmos | C | 1 | More casual |
