The Rutherford Public Library and the Friends of the Library of Rutherford are pleased to offer the Museum Pass Program to Rutherford residents. This exciting program allows residents who have a valid Rutherford library card to visit local museums in New Jersey and New York for free or at a discounted rate.
HOW TO BORROW A PASS
Rutherford residents, 18 and older, with a valid Rutherford Public Library card in good standing can reserve museum passes up to 60 days in advance on a first-come, first-served basis. Passes may be reserved online, in person, or by calling (201) 939-8600. You will need your Library card number. A household may borrow or reserve up to 2 passes at any one time. Households may borrow the same pass once every 30 days. Please review the Museum Pass Agreement before reserving a pass. Please contact the museum you wish to visit ahead of time to ensure that you can enter safely and at the time you’d like.
Passes are free to borrow and are loaned out for 3 days/2 nights, with no renewals. For example, passes borrowed on Monday are due on Wednesday. Note: Passes may be returned in the book drop when the Library is closed. If the library is open, please return them to the main desk so the next patron can borrow them.

Aviation Hall of Fame

Brooklyn Botanic Garden

Free admission for 2 adults and up to 4 children under 16. Advance ticket reservation required. Click here to reserve tickets. Click on the date you’d like to go, then Reserve Tickets, then click amount of tickets you’d like under Affiliated Organization tickets. Be sure to reserve the library’s pass as well. When visiting, the tickets and library membership card must be shown in order to gain entry.

Children’s Museum of Manhattan

Free admission for up to 4 people (2 adults and 2 children, or 1 adult and 3 children). Check out the Pass from the library first, then reserve the day. Choose “Member” option and bring the Pass with you. The Member ID is on the library Pass. CMOM lets you leave (for lunch, for example) and return using the same pass.

The Frick Collection
Internationally recognized as a premier museum and research center, the newly renovated Frick Collection is known for its distinguished Old Master paintings and outstanding examples of European sculpture and decorative arts.
Free admission for 2 adults. Must be 10 and older to be admitted.

Guggenheim New York
“An internationally renowned art museum and one of the most significant architectural icons of the 20th century, the Guggenheim New York Museum is at once a vital cultural center, and educational institution, and the heart of an international network of museums.”
Free admission for 4 adults or students. You do not have to make a reservation with the museum ahead of time.

Intrepid
“The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is dedicated to the exhibition and interpretation of history, science and service as related to its home aboard the aircraft Intrepid, a National Historic Landmark. As you explore the Museum, you will be able to examine original artifacts, view historic video footage, and explore interactive exhibits.” Free admission for 3 adults and 3 children. Includes admission to the Space Shuttle Pavilion and all temporary exhibitions. One pass available.
Open Monday thru Friday, 10 am – 5 pm; During April 1 – September 30: Saturday, Sunday & holidays, 10am – 6pm. Last entry one hour prior to closing. Meadowlands Museum
“Visit The Meadowlands Museum, a non-profit, non-political center for the preservation and education of regional history. It is the main steward of history and culture of the Meadowlands region and one of its leading storytellers. Its mission and collection, which resides in the Yereance-Berry House in Rutherford, NJ, is unique. The house is an historic treasure and landmark, and was built in 1804 by the Berry family, who were among the county’s earliest settlers. The Museum hosts activities during the year such as Scarecrow Day and also presents an Historic Speaker Series. Also featured at the museum is a collection of William Carlos Williams memorabilia and a display of geology from the Meadowlands region.”

Montclair Art Museum

Morris Museum: A Smithsonian Affiliate

Free admission for 2 adults and 3 children. Cost for additional visitors is $10/adult and $7/child up to 18 and students. Admission is free for children under 3. Open Wednesday through Sunday with special hours for members on the first Tuesday of the month. Museum Members will be admitted at the door by showing the library’s museum pass. New York Historical Society Museum & Library Including the DiMenna Children’s History Museum

Storm King Art Center
Storm King Art Center is a 500-acre outdoor museum located in New York’s Hudson Valley, where visitors experience large-scale sculpture and site-specific commissions under open sky. No advance reservations. Simply borrow the Library’s Membership Pass for the date you wish to visit, then show the pass at the admissions booth upon arrival. Thomas Edison Center at Menlo Park
Learn about the burst of invention that took place at Thomas Edison’s historic Menlo Park, and enjoy a walk through our lovely 36-acre state park, featuring a nature trail and informative kiosks. enjoy a fully escorted tour.
