If you happen to be working on some creative writing project, fanfiction or NaNoWriMo or what have you, post exactly one sentence from each of your current work(s) in progress in your journal. It should probably be your favourite or most intriguing sentence so far, but what you choose is entirely your discretion. Mention the title (and genre) if you like, but don't mention anything else -- this is merely to whet the general appetite for your forthcoming work(s).
Fanfiction (One Piece):
1. Once Kaku was marginally certain he would be able to keep Lucci pinned for another two seconds or so, he looked up at the anxious spectators and snapped, “Will you all please get the hell out of here!?”
2. Inspiration strikes, and Usopp leaps up from the floor with lightning speed and only a little bit of a knee-buckle and clamps a hand over Sanji’s mouth, incurring a muffled yelp and a bit of startled flailing.
3. “You’re attracted to him because he has anger management problems?”
4. “All I ever wanted to do was be a bartender,” she announced, and ground out her cigarette in the ashtray on the table.
5. “Brave warriors of the sea,” Usopp explains loftily, as he sits up and attempts to pin Luffy’s flailing hands to the grass, “do not have pretty hair.”
6. Lucci had never liked swimming anyway.
7. He’d tested them, and they would break under sufficient pressure—granted, so would the headboard, but Kaku was nothing if not cognizant of the necessity of sacrifice.
8. So...either some loser had made off with his shirt while he was busy, probably some flunky looking for a souvenir or a punk cruising for a bruising, or...evil, shirt-snatching...faeries, or something...yeah, probably some idiot had stolen it.
9. “Well, perhaps not, but if you had to hang around with my team all day, you’d want to jump off something high, too."
10. Blueno loved his job and was a little put off by the fact that it stunted his life expectancy to roughly 35 if he was lucky—he would have kept on serving the cause forever if he could, especially considering that someone would have to do the filing correctly.
