Beyond The Sandwich Filling
Gashi soshite aisatsu! Before we begin, Takusan would like to make an announcement. I've decided to indulge him on this one, so pay attention. (Konnichiwa! As you may or may not know, Sasori Katana's mogami tomodachi (that means best friend) Saranie Lisi has found a muse by the name of Shousetsu Ongaku. I urge you to go see both artist and muse at Saranie Tae, which is easily located by checking Sasori's friends list or searching the username saranie_lisi. Seriously, go see it. It only takes a second, and it would make a certain girl who is new on the musing scene very happy. That is all. Arigatou.) That's what you wanted to say? Wow...that's actually kind of...nice. (You say that like it's unusual.) Unusual? Of course not! Ehehe...anyway, on to business! Those of you who aren't yet used to my insanity may be wondering about the title of today's update. (Those of you who are used to it are also probably wondering, but you know that she'll get around to it eventually and therefore aren't terribly excited about it.) Arigatou, Takusan *sigh*.
My brother and I have been invited to spend the first three weeks (give or take) of summer at my friend's grandparents' house in Canada, after which we will go to Monterey, Mexico for another week or so. The reason for this is as follows: My friend and his family will be moving to Mexico in late June. I know you can't see me but *sniff* I'm very sad right now. (There there, at least you'll still have Saranie!) She's moving too. (Oh. Well, at least you'll always have me!) Arigatou, Takusan, that makes me feel a lot better. (Really? Well, I'm always glad to hel- waaaaaiiit a minute...was that sarcasm?) Surprisingly, no. I'm happy to know that no matter what, I'll always have my imagination by my side. (Does that mean you'll let me out of the parentheses?) Ha! Not a chance, Mr. Stamp-crazy! (*Sigh* Well, It never hurts to try. Anyway, what about the blog title?) Hmm? Oh, right! Sandwiches. Okay, I'm about to present you with a colorful (and lame) metaphor, so stay with me.
The world is like a picnic lunch. North America is like a sandwich. The United States is like sandwich filling; lettuce, cheese and whatnot. (Who says "whatnot"?) Shut up, this is my blog. Ahem. Mexico is like the bottom bun, and Canada is like the top bun. I have spent my entire life inside the sandwich filling area. (That must have been uncomfortable.) Hai, it was. Well, for the first time, I will be venturing beyond the sandwich filling! And not only that, I will be visiting both the top and bottom buns! See? Did you follow the metaphor? Cool, huh? (Sure, Sasori, very clever. *Yawn*) Well, there you have it! Next stop: the pie. (I think that's her way of saying Europe.) Europe? What are you talking about? I just want some of the leftover blueberry pie in the fridge. (Oh. Nevermind, then.)
