Gay movies and maimed elephants.

Is it sad that I was totally averse to the idea of watching High School Musical 2 until I read the QueerSighted blog entry about it?

Probably.

In other news, and also related to gay in media, I watched The Road To El Dorado last night. I have always loved that movie, but it wasn't until I watched it last night (for the first time since I was 13 and after my personal discovery of the existence of homosexuality) that I realized how massively, ridiculously gay the two main characters are for each other. You're probably not going to believe me unless you see it and I won't get into it here, but I will say that the entire soundtrack is composed of love songs. The soundtrack for a movie about two men adventuring in the jungle. Yes.

Also, my friend Vicky was kind enough to track down and send to me the uncut, original version of The Thief And The Cobbler, which is a fantastic movie and I have been wanting for some time now to see it as it was originally intended, so many thanks to Vicky.

And finally, I went to the fair a few days ago with Vicky and Mercy. We saw approximately two million rabbits, all of whom apparently wanted to go home with Mercy because animals love her, and we ate an elephant ear (did anyone ever think about how distressing that is? Elephant ear. It's like there's some mutilated pachyderm in a barn somewhere. No wonder it takes them so damn long to make the things.), and went on this ride that is apparently meant to simulate flying on a hang glider. I had to keep Vicky from shouting inappropriate things to the masses below-- not because I did not wish to see their reactions but because I wanted to be allowed to remain on the fairgrounds, possibly to see where they were keeping the elephants and how I could go about liberating them.

All in all, good times, despite the way my back muscles have decided to go all stiff and sore on me as vengeance.
