I know I wrote about my mom last year for Mother's Day, but she deserves more recognition, so I'm posting the journal entry I wrote about her in Writing class. Her mom is cool. That she is.
My mom is a very cool person. Her name was Lisa Lorena Saloiye before she was married. I've always found a tone of sophistication in that name. It suits her well.
She could've been a professional artist and lived in a loft apartment in the city. It's always been her dream; I remember her talking about it when I was little. There seems to be no end to her creative talents in whatever medium she chooses.
She could've been an interior designer and had her own show. She has the skill, the charisma, the look. She could have been a landscaper; her garden is practically unmatched. She could've been a veterinarian, with her compassion and love of animals.
She could've been a psychologist. She gives the best advice, everyone likes her, and she's never judged a person incorrectly. She could've been a caterer; even the food she makes is pretty. She could have been a fashion designer. She's practically the personification of style.
She chose to be my father's wife and my brother's mom. She chose to be my mother.
She tells me every day she's glad she did.
Yeah, it's corny, but she's my mom and I love her and I wanted to annoy you all by letting you know just how much. All that stuff is true, anyway. No doubt. See you next time.
