Patriotism Or Something Like It

Gashi soshite aisatsu, everyone, and welcome to Sasori's Rock! (Konnichiwa!) Wow, it's sure been a while! (I'll say. When was the last time we posted?) The 18th of June, I believe. (Yeesh.) I know. We just got back from Canada a few days ago, and we've really missed you guys! (What guys? Nobody reads this thing.) Shut up, this is my blog. Anyway, Wainwright, Alberta was fun, but it's nice to be back in the U.S.A. I mean, sure, it has it's flaws, but when you really think about it, the States are a pretty cool place to live. (This coming from the girl who is fascinated with Japan, can't wait to go to Mexico, and plans to move to Canada later in life?) I know I don't seem very patriotic most of the time, but it's really not all that bad here. We have freedom of speech, and religion, after all. How many countries can say that about themselves? (Well...) See? Even though the government sucks and the country is run by morons, we still have a few thing to be proud of. (Hai, I guess that's true. Let me try something: Takusan Kangae, American Citizen. Hey, that did sound kind of impressive, didn't it?) That it did. Just remember, folks: Whenever you get the feeling that your government is cheating, lying, or overtaxing you, you can say it out loud without being thrown in the slammer for it. (That's the beauty of this country. There are plenty of things to complain about and no one can bust you for talking about them.) God bless America. Well, now that that's over with, I'd like to say konnichiwa to my best friend Saranie Lisi and her muse Shousetsu Ongaku. (Drop us a line, girls, we've missed you!) And I also want to give a shout to Sisson, the guy who I haven't been able to get ahold of all summer. (We know you're out there! You're probably not reading this, but we do know you're out there!) Oh, and here's a big, Japanese-style greeting to my whole family, who I missed and was so happy to see as soon as I got back: (Watashi aikou waga kenzoku!) Arigatou, Takusan. (Don't mention it. For those of you who don't know, which is most likely all of you, that meant "I love my family".) And I meant every word of it. Well, I guess that's about it for today. (Hai, time to wrap it up.) We'll see you next time at Sasori's Rock! (Sayonara!)

Aikou kara Sasori!

THINGS I DON't UNDERSTAND

-The fact that they won't let you bring honey back across the border from Canada. Of all the crap going on between these (and practically all) countries, what possible reason do they have to be worried about honey?
-Italian paper clips. These are little spirals of metal that serve the same exact purpose as regular paper clips, but look cooler and cost four bucks for a package of twenty.
-The question that most people feel compelled to ask a vegetarian when they first meet one: "If you don't eat meat, what do you eat?" (P.S. The answer to the above question is "Foods that are not meat.")
