TAH DAH!  Here is the fic I wrote for the wonderful Lucefuge_5 in last year's stuffsit challenge.  Man, this fic came out HARD.  It didn't want to come, but I knew it was in there somewhere.  I'm so glad it got such a good response from Luce and she enjoyed it.  I really wanted to give my recipient the best work I could - hence no less than FOUR betas. 

Title: Mikey Way and the Quest for the Stone

Summary: “I’m in Colombia!” Mikey said, raising his voice over the crackle of a poor connection.
“No. no, no, no, no,” James wailed.
Mikey could really relate to his disbelief. He couldn't believe he was in mother fucking Colombia either.

A/N: This fic is based very loosely on Romancing the Stone a really wonderful 80s, post-modern Rom-Com staring Kathleen Turner and Michael Douglas. There are also nods to Indiana Jones and the Goonies. The 80s were another country, dude.
It was also inspired by a Tweet by one Iero, Frank A, regarding his daughter seeing a resemblance between him and Harrison Ford. Be flattered, Frank.  You really are a hero.
Also, a nod to Stephen King for supplying Mikey with the best Twilight smack down of all time.

Immeasurable thanks to my betas, anna_unfolding , mizubyte , alasse  and greedy_dancer  who made this story what it is. You read it over and over, and you put up with my freak outs, your hand holding and care was pretty awesome.  I want to give some special thanks to Anners for coming to my aid in the depths of the night when I needed her most, even though it was tough for us both.  Turned out okay, huh kid? ;)
