Roxio Drag-to-Disc is a packet-writing utility from Roxio that lets you use recordable CDs and DVDs like a removable drive. Integrated with Windows Explorer, it allows you to drag and drop files to your optical drive, then writes them in the background so you can add, update, or delete files on supported media without running a separate “burn” session.
Key capabilities:
- Simple drag-and-drop writing from Windows Explorer
- Background, incremental recording using the UDF file system
- On-the-fly formatting and erasing for rewritable media
- Option to close/finalize discs for use on other computers
- System tray controls and status indicators
- Designed for use with common CD-RW and DVD±RW drives of its era
Typical uses include quick backups, moving files between PCs, and making incremental updates to discs. For creating audio CDs, video DVDs, or fully mastered discs, Roxio’s disc-authoring tools are recommended instead.
Note: Drag-to-Disc is a legacy Windows solution and may have limited compatibility on newer operating systems. Packet-written discs may require a UDF reader on other computers to ensure proper playback and access.
Roxio Drag-to-Disc is developed by Roxio and is used by 200 users of Software Informer. The names of program executable files are DrgToDsc.exe, Roxio Burn.exe, CreateCD50.exe, Roxio_Central36.exe and Roxio_Central33.exe. This particular product is not fit to be reviewed by our informers.
