Rooted Connections expresses our commitment to deep, nurturing support and the strong network we create with and for our community. Rooted Connections is the embodiment of strength, adaptability and genuine care.
Do you still support people who are Catholic?
Absolutely we do! Catholic was removed from the name because it often created a barrier towards accessing our services as the name gave the perception we were solely a faith based organization.
What is Employment Counselling?
Employment counselling at our organization involves personalized guidance and support to help newcomers navigate the Canadian job market. Our experienced counsellors assist with resume writing, interview preparation, job search strategies, and career planning to help individuals achieve their professional goals.
Does your Newcomer Career Services team offer Career-Related Training?
Yes, we offer a variety of career-related training programs tailored to meet the needs of newcomers. These programs cover communication skills, workplace culture, job search techniques, and industry-specific training to enhance employability and integration into the Canadian workforce.
How Long Do I Have to Wait to Access Your Services?
At our organization, we strive to provide timely access to our services. Typically, there is minimal to no wait time, and individuals can access our support as soon as they reach out to us. We understand the importance of timely assistance and aim to offer support promptly.
Do your services cost anything?
No, almost all our programs are free of charge. The only service might have a cost associated with it is the Counselling Services.
What is the cost for counselling services?
Our counselling fee is $150/hour. However, if this is a barrier, we will work with you to connect you to one of our additional counselling programs.

No.
Both Families First and Family Support are voluntary programs and no one is forced to work with us if they don’t want to.
Are you a part of the Ministry of Social Services?
No.
Rooted Connections is its own independent organization and not a government agency. However, we are partnered with the MSS meaning we receive funding and referrals from them.

Yes.
Donations get a tax deductible receipt but if you use our services like counselling for example this is not tax deductible.
Why choose Rooted Connections?

How do you get your funding?
We are an independent non-profit organization, so although we receive some funding through government, we rely heavily on the generosity of public donations. Each and every contribution ensures we can provide the best services to as many of our community members as possible.
