The article is devoted to 32 books owned by Osip Maksimovich Bodyansky (1808–1877) and compiled b... more The article is devoted to 32 books owned by Osip Maksimovich Bodyansky (1808–1877) and compiled by his personal working library. Preliminary results of the research reflect the history of the books after his death and indicate the currently known locations of the books. Copies that previously belonged to the scholar were found and identified in the Funds of the Russian Academy of Sciences Library (hereinafter – RASL). The books are in good condition and have not undergone restoration. It allowed the researchers studying and understanding of the circumstances of the appearance of these publications in the RASL Funds. The marks such as the inscription on the flyleaf, carrying a lot of information about the time and place of purchase, receipts of the books made it possible to identify it as the scientist's possession. Nowadays, research fellows of the Slavic Fund of the Library of the Russian Academy of Sciences a... more Nowadays, research fellows of the Slavic Fund of the Library of the Russian Academy of Sciences are reconstructing Polichrony Syrku’s book collection that was bought by the Library in 1906–1908. After the scholar’s death, his private library was acquired by Saint Petersburg University and the Library of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Title-by-title, work with the books will help to provide the insight into the practice of book-exchange among Slavists.

Бодуэном де Куртенэ славян-скому отделению Библиотеки Императорской академии наук в период с 1901 по 1913 г. Эти книги являются примером тематического книжного собрания, составленного ученым в ходе научных работ по изучению словенского языка и целого спектра различных говоров. Подаренные издания имеют ряд внеш-них признаков, которые позволяют атрибутировать их как владельческие эк-земпляры личной рабочей библиотеки исследователя. Изучение текстов дар-ственных надписей и автографов помогают существенно дополнить име-ющиеся сведения о жизни ученого, его командировках, научных и личных взаимоотношениях с коллегами из разных стран мира. The article is devoted to books donated by Jan Baudouin de Courtenay to the Department of Slavic Literature of the Imperial Academy of Sciences Library from 1901 to 1913. These books are a thematic collection. It was composed by the scholar in the course of his research on the Slovenian language and its various dialects. These books have a number of formal features that allow attributing them as owner's copies from the researcher's library. Many books have dedicatory inscriptions and autographs that let supplementing available information about the life of the scholar, his scholarly trips, academic and personal relations with colleagues from all over the world. This year we celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of the Czech historian and Slavist Lubo... more This year we celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of the Czech historian and Slavist Lubor Niederle, member of the Petersburg Academy of Sciences. The exhibition devoted to the event was held in the second half of February in the Slavic reading room of the Library of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The bulk of the displayed publications were: the lifetime works of L. Niederle, reviews to his works, and his letters to leading Russian scientists. Publications of Lubor Niederle dedicated to history, archaeology and ethnography of the Slavs, anthropology, and statistics present the unique materials and tell the history of the development of Slavonic studies in the Czech Republic and Russia in the late 19th – early 20th cc. In 1898 and in 1904 there were published the Russian translation of the book " Mankind in prehistoric times " and the first part of the first volume of the " Slavic antiquities ". In the middle of the 20th century a wide known work of L. Niederle " Slavic antiquities " (M., 1956) was published.

Slavic Fund of the Russian Academy of Sciences Library is one of the largest collections of books... more Slavic Fund of the Russian Academy of Sciences Library is one of the largest collections of books published in Slavic languages. It was formed in the late XIX - early XX centuries. and it contains a large number of different collections of scientific Slavists. One of the most valuable collections is part of the library, P.A. Syrku, which was transferred for storage in Slavic Fund at the beginning of the twentieth century. Today, members of the Slavic Fund makes reconstruction of this collection, which arrived in 1906 - 1907 years.
