I just went back about 100 entries, which is about 10 days or so, looking for Billie Joe/Mike slash, which is about all I read these days. I kid you not, if you exclude drabbles and young!Billie/Mike (because I doubt anyone can ever improve upon al_teregoz's seminal work), there were all of about half a dozen Billie/Mike fics. Seriously.

What's up with that? When did everyone turn into a Billie/Tré 'shipper?

Since fiction is not my usual bailiwick--I'm definitely more comfortable writing essays and term papers--I decided to approach this in my usual manner: research!

And Google truly is my friend in my quest for veracity in Green Day RPS fiction. (Please ignore the completely oxymoronic nature of that last sentence.)
