Wellbeing Starts Here
Link Copied!
When the IADC Southern Arabian Peninsula Chapter (SAPC) set out to launch its new Mental Wellbeing Charter, they wanted something that would immediately connect with their audience.
The final chapter meeting of the year brings together around 200 members from across the region—so the introduction needed to be clear, human and impactful.
Reuzer was asked to create a 3-minute video and animation package to unveil the charter and highlight its five core principles. With a tight turnaround and a fixed event date, this quickly became a project powered by teamwork, agility and some creative thinking.
Quick Turnaround, Real Voices
Fortunately, Ian from Reuzer happened to be in Dubai just two weeks before the meeting. The IADC SAPC team sprang into action, coordinating filming locations, access, and even arranging transport—making it possible to record six short messages from individuals who helped shape the charter.
Armed with only a phone and a microphone purchased the day before, Ian filmed the contributors across several offices, including Shelf Drilling, H&P and Vantage Drilling. Each speaker delivered their piece professionally and concisely, allowing the footage to be sent straight back to the UK so the editing and animation work could begin immediately.
Animation Carrying the Story
Because the filming setup was intentionally lightweight, we knew animation would need to “carry” the final piece. The Reuzer team developed a clean, friendly animation style designed to feel warm, modern and supportive—ideal for a topic centred around wellbeing.
The short film blended real footage, voiceovers, illustrated sequences and on-screen graphics, all crafted around the charter’s five key principles:
- Leadership & Senior Management Support
- Awareness, Advocacy & Training
- Connection & Engagement
- Effective Systems, Support & Resources
- Collaboration & Sharing Best Practise
Each of the five contributors introduced one principle, with Darren Sutherland providing the opening and closing messages. Darren previously played a key role in launching the North Sea Chapter’s wellbeing campaign, bringing valuable continuity and context to the SAPC version.
Delivered on Time, Received with Enthusiasm
Despite the challenging timeline, the final animation was delivered ahead on schedule and played at the IADC SAPC end-of-year meeting exactly as intended. The feedback from members was incredibly positive, with many commenting on the clarity, tone and emotional impact of such a short piece.
A Collaborative Project from Start to Finish
From the contributors who generously shared their time, to the IADC SAPC organisers who coordinated the filming logistics, to the Reuzer team animating and editing back in the UK—even those supporting with autocue behind the scenes—this was a genuine team effort.
The final result was a concise, engaging launch video that helped set the tone for a meaningful regional wellbeing initiative.
