The Standard EIA Color Code Table for resistors generally consists of the values for color bands from 0 to 9 of 0-Black, 1-Brown, 2-Red, 3-Orange, 4-yellow, 5-Green, 6-Blue, 7-Violet, 8-Gray, and 9-White.
To calculate a resistor value, say with 4 bands, for example, the third band’s multiplier usually multiplies the values of the first two color bands and the fourth band would represent the tolerance. A resistor with high tolerance may have 3 color band values. Using Resistor Colourcode Decoder, you will be able to decode, in an instant, all of your 4 or 5 band resistors, simply by inputting your values into the boxes provided. Or, if you need to color-code a resistor, you can input your values and the program will provide you with the correct color code.
Resistor Colourcode Decoder is a virtual ready reckoner for resistor color-coding with an easy-to-use Windows-style interface where you can input your Band 1 and Band 2 figures, select your multipliers tolerance percentages, and you can also enable or disable 5 band mode. The program also finds the nearest E12 or E24 series resistor neighbor for you.
Pros
- Enables fast value calculation
Cons
- Not suitable for Windows Vista
