REDCap@UNC Services
REDCap@UNC offers three distinct services to support researchers in building and managing online surveys and databases for their research projects.
REDCap Research
REDCap Research provides access to a secure, HIPAA-compliant REDCap application for building and managing online surveys and databases for the purpose of conducting research. REDCap Research provides the necessary settings, external module restrictions, and project build requirements to prioritize data security and data integrity and uphold standards for the responsible conduct of research.
REDCap Part 11
REDCap Part 11 offers the same features as REDCap Research, but with additional support for FDA-regulated research study activities that are subject to 21 CFR Part 11 electronic records requirements. REDCap Part 11 is validated, configured, and maintained with routine software updates, operating system patches, security controls, and infrastructure documentation in accordance with 21 CFR Part 11 regulations.
REDCap Part 11 must be used in conjunction with proper procedures, documentation, and study-level validation to meet regulatory requirements.
REDCap Operations
REDCap Operations provides more flexible use of the robust tools in REDCap for building and managing surveys and databases needed to support research operations and administration activities. REDCap Operations can be used for a variety of research-adjacent purposes such as patient satisfaction surveys, faculty publication tracking, quality improvement, process improvement, and feasibility assessments.
