Its been a while since I read a proper set/trilogy of books so it’s good to pick up an author I feel pretty comfortable with. Just finished reading the first book of the series and now onto a second. Dark mountain series is pretty good so far. Although I did discover that there is 2 books I should of read first, oh well you get that on..the big jobs 🙂
Quick book post.

Valentines day and Clerics
•February 15, 2012 • Leave a CommentOk let start by saying Valentines day sucked a fat one. Thats all Im going to say on the matter. The day was ok, the night not so much. Rolled a Cleric on DDO today just for the fun of it and realised that as much as I love the game there is some serious issues with getting groups. I think they have made it to soloable now and so people dont even bother until they reach Stormreach.
DDO is swallowing my life….
•February 14, 2012 • Leave a CommentWell not truly but like all things gaming related I just love to jump in as deep as I can quickly and so the last 24 hours went something like this.
1am go to bed
7.45am “Happy Valentines day baby”
SLEEP
11am Coke and DDO
12,1,2,3,4,5 Same as above other than a 30 minute window when I went and brought more coke and some chocolates for Deanne for Valentines day. When I say chocolates the truth is more a block of Cadbury Crunchie chocolate because lets be honest Valentines day shouldn’t be about capitalist commercialization. 😛
5-7.33 Deanne, Dinner, Garden.
7.33 Blogging and then DDO 🙂
Here is the picture of the day. Its of my chillies that I like to say I grew but lets be honest, Deanne waters them way more than I do, I just occasionally prune them and admire them. Those little buggers are very hot. Haberenos or some such.
Anyways that’s about the length of my day, oh other than the fact I took the battery out of the R32 today and started her up using my other battery. She still hums like a humming bird. Really should sell her but I kinda love her still. So much more fun to drive than Kermit.
DDO yup
•February 12, 2012 • Leave a CommentWas bored last night with magic so decided to download Turbine’s Dungeons and Dragons Online. Man what an awesome free to play game this is. Sure, if you want to spend money on it then you can to get better items etc but even just playing the F2P version its great. Besides the awesomeness of it being D&D the real positive for me is the fact its something that has broken the MTGO craze in my head for a few hours. 🙂
On a RL note I’m on holidays for the next 9 days so figure I should make some effort to get outdoors. As a starter to this awesome idea I mowed the lawn today and some other stuff so actually got out of cyberspace for a few hours. 😛
Also since I am trying to make an effort to blog more often I have decided to add “Picture of the Day” to all my posts. Yes the idea is cool but to be honest it is more something to keep me motivated to post. I figure if I have to take a picture and also post thats 2 things instead of one to keep me heading in the writing direction. 🙂
And so let us begin with the first ever picture of the day!
This pic is of me (well dah) and my nephew Jaxon on his first ever birthday. Babies is so cute!
Magic the Gathering Online – Return to Nerdism
•February 10, 2012 • Leave a CommentOk so a mate of mine has started playing MTGO and of course he has to post about it on that social media site that rules the world. Gets me thinking, “Hey I’m pretty sure I have an account for that lying around.” Low and behold I do the silliest thing in the world…. I go to wizards.com and download the client. After a few attempts at remembering the password I’m in and playing again. Now let me list how this week went. We need to go back to the beginning so here it is condensed:
- Monday 30/01: Facebook –Vyxanis Tirios I’ve beaten Adrian twice now at Magic, and both those times were bullshit lucky xDÂ
- Tuesday 01/02: Client download. Wow time: 5 hours MTGO time: 1 hour Bed: 12am
- Wednesday 02/02: Wow time: 2 hours MTGO time: 3 hours Bed: 12am
- Thursday 03/02: Wow time 20 minutes MTGO time: 7 hours Bed: Fucking late
- 04/02 to now: Repeat Thursday!Â
Eve and the emptiness of space.
•November 17, 2011 • Leave a CommentOk so playing eve again. In some regards this game scares the crap out of me. Its just such a huge universe to play in. Well on first look it is. You soon realise that high sec space isn’t nearly as big as it appears. I warped 26 gates and still run into people I know.
The scope of this game is massive and it has a learning curve thats like climbing a cliff. That said I am still loving it.
!save this space!

Christmas 2010 (The name is deceiving)
•December 25, 2010 • Leave a CommentOk so yes it is Christmas but that has very little to do with this actual post. Well I guess I should drop in the mandatory stuff.
Yes it was fun got call pressies and stuff and hope everybody had a really good chrissy blah blah blah.
Ok so now onto what I really want to post about.
(NOTE: This post started out as coherent ideologies but due to the fragmented nature of ones tired brain at midnight it is sort of ramblish. Please excuse my lost trains of thought. Seems to me at present more like a few brush strokes than a painting. Will try to indulge myself in completing it sometime in the near future. Kinda just wanted to get it down while it was in my head.)
Spirituality
Ok so for those of you that didnt just go “fuck here we go” thank you for staying.
My interest in peoples beliefs and by default their expressionalism, especially at christmas often peaks me to consider the views of people and what I sometimes perceive as the close mindedness of westernized society as a whole. It has always amazed me that as a people that come from such a wide demographic (I am talking of Australia) and such a pletora of interesting and diverse backgrounds that we still stick with such adore to our preconceptions of god* being only our god. (* I use god here in the broadest sense thus encompassing all faiths whether they be monothiest, polythiest, muslim, christian, hindu, pagan – thus emcompassing all its forms.)
Work with me here for a second. If I was to stand before you and announce the following, to what faith would you ascribe me:
- I believe in a creator
- I believe in life after death
- I believe in paradise
Did you guess Christianity or Islam or something else entirely? The point I make here is that sometimes, we as a race look for the differences instead of the similarities within our lives and by extension our faiths. The above statements could be true of many religions.
In a world that fights wars over religion I have never understood the why of conflict over ones deity. It was Tolstoy that said non-resistance to evil paves the way to peace. (Well he said something along those lines. ) Which basically deciphers as pacifism is the only only answer to hostility.
to be continued
