Hello, hello, flist and circle (or whateverthefuck I'm supposed to call the DW equivalent. Saying hello circle! Doesn't quite have the same ring as hello, flist!)
Last night was a great fangirl get-together at inlovewithnight's house for cupcakes, gin, discussions of fannish history and Dead and Breakfast. A++ for musical zombie movies.
Today, otoh, was the most worthless day ever. Most notably I am supposed to be putting together a presentation on that book that filled me with fannish rage. It is not going so well.
Anyway, I have been thinking about DW since it keeps coming up everywhere and I keep watching more and more people get accounts. This entry is crossposted to LJ and DW. At this point, I have *not* been reliably crossposting and I probably won't start until open beta - I meant to, but most of my entries just . . . do not need to be in more than one place. I am boring, you guys! (As evidenced by the above). Especially right now. I'll crosspost anything fannish or that I think is "important" and I will definitely import all LJ entries to DW when I start using it for good.
That said, I do intend to start using it for good, at least in the sense that eventually the entries that only need to be in one place are probably going to be on DW instead of LJ. I'm not someone who is looking for my fannish experience to change dramatically. I don't feel like I need a new start; I'm not making a break with anything (except my discomfort with LJ as a blogging platform); I'm not going to change what I talk about or how I talk about it. I don't intend to leave LJ entirely - at least I'm going to keep reading my LJ flist, especially since it seems that DW has a way to do that *through* DW. I may end up consolidating comments on DW because I like my comments all in one place, but that will wait until all DW's features are rolled out and until I get a better idea of who is posting where. Mostly I like the idea of DW being my primary journal and LJ being the backup.
Anyway, that's where I am with all of that.
And now more homework. DO NOT EVEN ASK ME ABOUT BIG BANG. I hit the word count? Isn't that good enough? /o\
You, you, you. Nothing can ever replace how much we all cared for each other a decade and longer ago. It's always good to know you're okay. And if you happen to be anywhere near NY in late…
Hi hi hi! So good to see you around. I went to visit chrisleeoctaves last week and we got to reminiscing about Writercon and meeting so many fandom folks. We both agreed that you were…

(I'm planning to backread LJ, which will likely provide insight). :)
