Yes, I'm still here.
Sorry for the long silence! RL just keeps taking over. Grrr!

Wow! Eighteen years here on LJ. It all began with SPN, of course: first lurking around and then finally starting my account, then joining communities and connecting with people. Ah, the good old days! I do miss them. So thankful that some of you are still around.

I updated the look of my journal a bit for the summer. :)

Been thinking about doing another SPN Name That Cap Challenge.
Anyone remember that? It's been 2 years. Anyone up to playing?

With Walker (sadly) ending, I hope to have a little more time on my hands for posting here.
It'll also give me a chance to resume capping SPN episodes again for @Fangasm.
I desperately want to FINALLY get back to updating/overhauling things over at spn_locations, too!
Need to resume posting Soldier Boy caps over at paradisi-pictura as well.

So there's plenty to do...just need to get back into the habit of being here.

Yes. After letting it go for far too long, I'll be capping Jensen's character of Soldier Boy from The Boys.

Didn't mean to give everyone this long of a wait, but...RL has been taking over. *sigh*
At first I thought I wasn't even going to be able to cap the Season 3 episodes. Couldn't find them anywhere! But thankfully, during my second search I found some useable files.

Now, while the quality of the files is fairly good - they're terrible for any action scenes. Which is probably just as well since action/fight scenes rarely yield good caps even from the highest quality video.

I'll be posting these caps by episode over at my Capping Site: paradisi_pictura.

And yes, I know Soldier Boy is returning for the new series (spin-off? whatever it is...).
First things first...

Well, it's really a Dreamwidth community, but...same thing. ;)

The explanation about the site and important notes are in the sticky post over there.

The site has caps from the following shows:

- Walker (Season 3)
- The Winchesters
- Big Sky (mainly just Jensen's Beau Arlen character from Season 3)
- A few SPN episode caps (that have not been posted here on my LJ).

Well, Livejournal is still around!
But it begs the question, "For how long?".

For now, I'm existing on both sites. Pretty much all the communities have been imported over to DW, including positively_spn. But I find it hard to give up on LJ as long as it's still around. At the same time, it's a little weird to be existing in both places. Plus, everything on DW is still in a state of "not totally finished" as far as the look goes and making sure all the links work, etc. I did a little cleaning up to spn_locations, but that's about it. Ugh! I hate this uncertainty about LJ's existence!

+ How does everyone else feel?
+ Are you still existing/posting to both LJ & DW or have you totally given up on LJ?
+ If you're still on LJ, how long do you intend to stick around?

FINALLY got hurtwinchesters imported to DW. I honestly thought it was never going to work. I lost count of how many times I tried it.

Also moved over spnconcatalog and an old secondary LJ account I had. Phew!

This leaves positively_spn. Gah! I still don't know what to do about it.

Still posting to both accounts.

After fearing how long importing my LJ to my Dreamwidth journal would be, it took less than a day. And that's with over 14,000 entries! I'm very impressed!

Sadly, none of the comments imported over.
When I tried to do another import with just the comments selected, it wouldn't work without also selecting the entries. So I guess I'll have to give up on retrieving the comments. *sigh*

But the important part is the posts/entries. At least they're saved!
Only about 3 didn't import and they're from 2013 and for some reason the caps are missing, so there's nothing in the posts anymore. Weird. So no big loss there.

The tags all imported as well, but there's a lot of cleanup to do. Darned LJ and it's automatic tagging of all hashtags! Grrrr!

Right now I'm attempting to import over all the stuff from spn_locations. It keeps aborting. :(
EDIT: Success! However, it failed to import the posts I had set for Private because they were entries I was still working on. Hmph! Guess I'll have to copy & paste them over.

If I have time, I'll also import over my other comms: hurtwinchesters, spnconcatalog, spn_ontheset (Note below).
I fear I'll probably lose positively_spn, but I was considering shutting it down anyway.

HEADS UP: If you have any images in LJ's Scrapbook, they probably will NOT import over into DW. None of mine did. Plus...I found out there is no way to bulk download the images from LJ's Scrapbook. Peachy! So I'm just going to asssume I have all of those images already saved elsewhere & forget about them. But this is why I no longer see any point to importing spn_ontheset over. All of it's images were from LJ's Scrapbook. Hey, I thought LJ would be around forever....yeah, right! Bye, bye community! You were wonderful! *sigh*

I can already see there's gonna be a TON OF WORK to do cleaning up things on the Dreamwidth side of all of this. Plus, I'm still trying to figure DW out! Not everything is as clear to use as it is on LJ. I mean...I've had DW for YEARS, but I've hardly ever used it! And can I say this is all crazy trying to do this much stuff (in amongst everything else!) in only a few days!

I wondered if LJ was going to be in danger and now it really might be. I've been here so long, have so MANY entries...there's no way it can all be backed up in any way. This is terrible!

I've had a Dreamwidth account for many years, but haven't used it since 2013. Guess that'll change now.

Backing Up Your LJ Data

Been wondering for a while whether or not I should resurrect my old Dreamwidth journal. I resisted before because there were still active LJ communities here for SPN, but those days seem to be over now. Btw, I'm not planning on leaving LJ, just thinking that I'd like to start using the other journal for more personal entries. We'll see.

I know some of you have Dreamwidth accounts, but I don't know how many.
Is the SPN fandom anymore alive over there compared to LJ?
I know a couple of years ago it didn't seem very active, but maybe it's changed.

What is with all these posts about people using their Dreamwidth accounts instead of LJ all of a sudden???
I get that LJ had some issues last week, but they're fixed now...as far as I can tell. Why the exodus?

Did I miss a memo somehow?

Sad to see 2 more of my Flisters leaving LJ today. I'm afraid this place will be a ghost town soon, with only me and a handful of others keeping the SPN community going. :(
