The past couple of weeks were rough ones for me. I wasn't feeling good, wasn't sleeping good [TMI (click to open)](thx, that time of the month!). So I vegged. Decided to get back to watching some of the TV shows on Tubi that I've been working on. Thankfully, Tubi recently acquired the full 3 season run of "Hardcastle and McCormick". Anyone remember that show? It ran from 1983-1986. This was honestly the first time I've been able to watch every episode. Way back in the day, I only managed to record a few episodes on Beta tape.
Anyway, I totally went down the rabbit hole with this show! I watched episodes on Tubi, I looked up fanfic, and I tried to find some of the old websites (not easy!). Btw, if you'd like to know what all I found, I'd be happy to share. :)
Once I watched all the episodes on Tubi, I decided I wanted to get the episodes in order to cap them. No easy task, I can tell you! BUT - I AM GETTING THEM! They're not Hi-Res by any stretch of the imagination, but for a 43 old TV show, they're not bad either. So - I'm getting back into screencapping. I'm hoping this will get me back into capping SPN as well. I took a long break, but I never figured it would be permanent. I just needed to get my mojo back. H&M helped me get it!
Oh! H&M has ties to SPN! Daniel Hugh Kelly, who plays McCormick also starred in the SPN Season 1 episode of "Dead In The Water". And the late, great director Kim Manners, directed 6 episodes of "Hardcastle and McCormick".
I also plan to take notes on each episode: getting quotes, making note of continuity & filmmaking errors, listing the songs, and more. If you're interested in this, please let me know in the comments.
The show's into - which pretty much tells you everything you need to know about the series. Great theme song, too!
Here's a couple of sample screencaps to give you some idea of what I'm getting. I've enlarged the caps just a bit, so they're 720 pixels wide, and IMO they still look pretty good, especially for a 1980s show.
[You just wanna make a simple birthday post and Slickpic decides to be impossible! GAH! This had better work now!]
Happy 48th Birthday to a man who still defies proper description. He's talented, stunning, handsome, kind, generous, and....millions of more words that I can't think of right now. These are all old VanCon photos/fanarts of mine. Hope you don't mind seeing them again. :)
Yes, I'm still alive. Can't blame you for wondering, since I've been dead silent since the beginning of the year and here we are starting on April. Have I given up hope of posting on here weekly? Hell, no. I've realized I just need to get back into the habit.
For years logging into LJ was a daily occurrence. Now, I have to purposely remind myself that this place even exists. Sad, but I'm sure it's been the same for some of you. But the hope is to at least post once a week.
I just did a Friends cut, which I planned on doing nearly a year ago. Well, this time I decided not to just talk about it, but rip that band-aid right off! So it's done. I kept a lot of people that I probably should've cut, but we're friends elsewhere or nostalgia kept me from hitting that "unfriend" button.
In all I cut 16 Friends and there were 7 purged accounts I cut myself from. *sigh*
Mom & I have been watching several old TV series lately. We've recently completed: Gilmore Girls, WKRP In Cincinnati, and Are You Being Served? (which got old to me awfully fast and then the original cast got broke up - *sigh*).
Funny how they said FreeVee TV was going to disappear last year and yet it's still going. Was surprised to see Dharma & Greg playing on it the other day, but sadly it's only as a "live TV" option. Still, it was fun to watch some episodes again, especially since Pluto TV's app has been breaking up so much lately. Bleh. Plus they seem to be showing the same episodes over and over again.
I never bring up politics here, but...OMG Senator Cory Booker is a hero! I watched the last 3 hours of his record-breaking speech yesterday. Finally! A Democrat taking some action! I hope this spurs others on because we need some hope!
I've only got a couple more hours until New Year's Day is over here. I sure hope the new year will be better than the last...though so far, it's not off to a great start. *sigh* It's not like 2023 was a picnic, but 2024? Very rough! I had 2 or 3 really bad months where I felt like I was running a marathon. Just exhausting! I'm still struggling with a lot (mental health-wise and real life-wise), but I hope I find some answers this year.
I'm also still hoping to get back to posting here on LJ more. There's no way I can return to my daily posts, but 2 or 3 times a week would be nice.
Here's wishing a good 2025 for all of us (though knowing how things are leaning, I'm not sure that's possible...). Let's just hope we have the strength to get through it, huh? Hugs to you all!

Well, I suck.
Here I'm supposed to be posting every day and a whole week has gone by without a peep from me. *sigh* My excuse? Real life busy-ness (what else is new?) and getting involved in one of my many Projects.
