AITAH for expecting my sahm wife to do majority of the housework since i pay 100% of the bills?
I work 40hrs a week and my wife stays home. She decided she wanted to be a sahm, and despite me not agreeing, she did it anyway. I told her dual-income was better because if one of us lost our jobs we'd still be okay, but she said she didn't want to "miss out" on her son's elementary years.
She has a 10yo son and i have no kids. We've been married for a year and together for three. Recently, i heard her complaining to her sister on the phone that i just get home and immediately start playing video games. I later confronted her about it, and she said she expects me to do 50% of the household labor. I disagreed, because on top of my 40hr job, i also handle 100% of the finances and 100% of the car and house maintenance like cutting the yard, trimming trees, or when something breaks.
She says she's carrying alot of mental load, and i told her i am too. She seems to think hers is more than mine, but again, i disagree. We just booked an appointment with a therapist to dive deeper, but i was wondering:
AITAH?

This is just depressing
Not even 3 hours of "free time". And in that is cooking & eating supper. Or practically no free time if I had to go shopping after work. I hate this

Discussion Watch out, Millennials... I got hit with my first "I had NO IDEA!" data privacy moment this weekend... and it was all my fault.
My 20 year old kid came to the house for dinner this weekend, walked in, and said "You need to unplug your Echo device. I don't want amazon to listen to my conversation".
So, I did... and then I was confidently incorrect in telling her that it waits for a wake word, and she has nothing to worry about.
Boy was I wrong.
She had me open my app, and look at saved conversations... and there were HUNDREDS of entries. And that was only over the last 2 weeks.
I had NO IDEA that Amazon was collecting everything I say... and the worst part is my 20 year old looked at me like I looked at my grandparents back when they would post text messages or Google queries as Facebook statuses. My kid then showed me the article from Cnet or wherever from about 6 months ago that showed that Amazon was fully transparent that all data is now sent and analyzed whether or not the wake word is used.
I'm proud to say there are no longer any Echoes in my house. Im a little bummed because all of my verbal "turn on the lights" and "lock the door" cues are all out the window, but Im really ashamed of the fact that at 41 years old I just didn't even think to look into it. Just had blind faith in a company that views me as a number. I'm pretty embarrassed.

🎓 academic/school AIO Teacher said my daughter’s report is “immoral”
So my 9 year old daughter has an assignment every year where they embody a historical figure of significance. She looks forward to this every year and she really gets into picking her figure out and learning about them. They’re supposed to pick three people, then the teacher chooses which of the three they can do. This year my daughter chose Freddie Mercury, Prince, and Anne of Cleves. Today the teacher messaged me saying that Freddie Mercury and Prince aren’t acceptable because they weren’t “moral” people. And Anne of Cleves isn’t acceptable because she didn’t make enough of an impact on the world. For reference, last year my daughter was Frida Kahlo and the year before she was Josephine Baker.
I prepared a big long response about how morality is subjective, every human is complex and not wholly moral or immoral, my family doesn’t believe in judging other people’s morality, and that choosing a “moral” person wasn’t even a condition as part of the assignment. But then my husband came home and found me seething and he thinks I’m overreacting and this isn’t a fight worth fighting. So… am I overreacting? Or should I stand my ground?
