Hello, it's serious business time. If you're watching the Olympics or even vaguely following, you know what I'm talking about. If you're on another planet or see this post later and need a reminder, that's what I mean. P.....enko. Back problems.
Let's just remember that something like this could happen if Roma somehow managed to make the World Cup squad. Let's thank him for being sensible.
Because there was some info that I didn't share, in early December. It was rumoured that Pavlyuchenko might need a back surgery soon. Here's the original article from a fairly respectable newspaper, Google Translate handles it okay too. Let me just say that they wrote what I had been wondering about for a year. If I wanted to spread panic, I could've written such an article too.
(and it's very well-written: they are mostly giving information about this particular back problem, not about Roma but in general. And note that nobody has denied anything, although it's been nearly three months. I'm afraid there's not much to deny. Sooner or later it might be needed)
For now things seem to be quite normal, though *knock on wood*. Loko's been training in Portugal and Spain during the winter break, and Roma has scored two goals in friendlies. Tomorrow Loko is going back to Spain until the end of the month. The official site and YouTube channel will keep you updated. My tumblr might also be a moderately good source of pics.
Also, with regard to the NT thing, I unexpectedly found some consolation in Ancelotti's bio. He retired when Capello became his coach - in his case it was at club level. And wow Capello is so old. :P
But this wasn't supposed to be an angsty post. Because apart from Capello, back pains and less than ideal form, there's one more reason for focusing on the club career for Roma Pavlyuchenko. His wife was already expecting their second daughter when he made the announcement, and on January 3rd 2014, Mila Pavlyuchenko was born. :))))) There are some cute pics of the family here.
