Duct System Requirements

Minimum System Requirements
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11 Business, Professional, or Ultimate (64-bit) versions, or Microsoft Windows 10 Business, Professional, or Ultimate (64-bit) versions.

(Microsoft Windows Home version, Mac OS, Linux, Unix, and other Operating Systems are not supported)
International Language Operating Systems only supported on Windows 10 Ultimate.
Processor: Intel i5 at 2.5GHz, 13^th Gen or better.
RAM: 16 gigabytes (GB).
Initial Workstation Hard disk space: 3 GB.

Solid State Drive (SSD) strongly recommended – Accumulative disk space: 40 to 100GB per year per estimator.

Graphics Card: 2 GB of Graphics Memory (Graphics acceleration requires Direct X 11).
Display: 1, (2 are recommended) – 1920 x 1080 HD Monitors.
Additional Software Required: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8. (This software is not included and must be licensed through Microsoft)

Additional Software Recommendation: Microsoft Office 2019 or 365 Business Premium (This software is not included and must be licensed through Microsoft)

Microsoft SQL Server for Duct 4 requires a Domain network setup and a separate Domain Controller.

QuoteSoft is desktop software – designed to be installed locally and networked to a local file server. You can install QuoteSoft in many types of Windows computing environments, but performance can be limited or intermittent. Below are the QuoteSoft recommendations for the installation of QuoteSoft Duct and Pipe products.

During Takeoff – QuoteSoft will utilize 100% of any computer!

Recommended On-premises Installation:

1. Installed entirely on a local computers C: drive.  (Or any local drive)
2. Installing the program on a local C: drive and use a local network file server with a Gigabit connection.
3. Duct 4 requires a Domain network with a separate Domain Controller when using a network setup.
4. Using Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) storage for your server storage.

Recommended Remote Desktop Access:

1. Quotesoft recommends Splashtop, TeamViewer, GoToMyPC, LogMeIn or Citrix Remote PC for remote access. QuoteSoft requires DirectX and DirectDraw compatibility for remote desktop connections (standard Windows RDP does not support DirectX or DirectDraw).
2. For remote setups, Quotesoft takeoff performance will be contingent on your internet speed.

QuoteSoft does not recommend:

• Wi-Fi or VPN connections due to the amount of data transferred.
• Cloud Servers or Cloud Environments due to the amount of data transferred.
• Network Attached Storage (NAS) systems as they do not have compatible operating systems and the latency in the data transferred.

QuoteSoft Technical Support may require access to your workstation or server using LogMeIn Rescue for technical support.

QuoteSoft Training Support may require access to your workstation using Splashtop for training and training support.

If QuoteSoft is installed in a way that is not recommended; This can cause speed issues and program instability. QuoteSoft was not designed for Wi-Fi, wide area networks, Cloud environments, VPN connections, or remote desktops. Use these at your own risk. QuoteSoft support will assist with installing the software in your chosen environment. We always recommend a local installation or local area network (LAN) installation for the best performance.

QuoteSoft technical support may be limited in what they can do to assist a customer that does not have the QuoteSoft software installed on a supported environment.
