I just have to show these off. I received them as Xmas presents from three of my very favorite friends and fanartists. (AND YES, I STILL HAVEN'T MADE IT TO THE POST OFFICE MYSELF, DAMMIT. I SO SUCK.)

But annnnywhooo...

Okay, here's what I love about LJ and fandom, in part anyway. As fanartists, we very seldom get folks making fanart for us. Sometimes we'll get fics written, based on our art (and I think I may be luckier than most, in that department), but either way, it's SUCH a treat! Warms my cockles, wherever those actually are. This is in part why I refused to let spn_summergen and spn_reversebang wither, and I adore spnspringfling so much.

More annnnywhooo...

Sparkly pretties under the cut! All SFW...Collapse )

I was so stoked to get indiachick's name in the spn_j2_xmas draw! Her mind works in strange and mysterious ways. And okay, so she didn't want a 'happy' holiday pic but I'm totally good with that. :D Caution: tentacles and possible character death. \0/! (Work safe, though. I swear...)

Well, naturally, I didn't get all the cards finished that I'd intended, so at least three lovelies will be getting Valentine's Day doodles. ♥ I did have a rare moment of foresight and managed to scan in the holiday cards I made before I sent them. (Will wonders never cease?) The cheesy glitter I spooged all over doesn't look nearly as sparkly in the scans, though. Imagine an opaline glow, if you would. Work safe.

Martha Steward would be proud.Collapse )

Huzzah! LJ returns! (Now, let's stay put, site. 'Kay?)

Title: Lessons in Making Your Own Fun
Author: quickreaver
Recipient: eggnogged
Characters: Sam,Dean, two OCs
Wordcount: ~4,300
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: A little cussin', one very brief spoiler for Season One
Prompt: "camping fic! pre-series or not, case-fic or not. Campfires and sleeping bags!" So giftee is getting a Season One mini-case!fic, set at a campground. Outsider POV, boys being bad-ass, bring on the s'mores!
Notes: Written for the 2012 spn_j2_xmas Secret Santa exchange. Extra-special appreciation goes out to monicawoe for alpha-reading this sucker, and to tesserae_ for being the most brilliant editor and beta-reader a writer could want. Ladies, you make me pretty.

The girls sat in the bramble, side by side and hips pressed together, watching night fall, getting softly and marvelously stoned. In stupid West Virginia, you had to make your own stupid fun.Collapse )

This turned out a little angstier than I think the giftee envisioned so I hope it passes muster. I daringly used no ref, except on the shotgun. (What was I thinking?) Anywho, it's based on this request:

Art, traditional - SPN, Sam/Dean - Dean and Sam sitting on a bed with DEAN BRAIDING SAM'S HAIR (genderswap or not) OR Dean's a pretty princess who just wants his brother to care.

I kinda forgot about the 'traditional' part. Boo. And it's solidly PG-13, so might not be work-safe. Heh-heh, enjoy?

Title: Good Things
Author: quickreaver
Rating: PG (a bit of cussin')
Characters: Sam, Dean
Genre: Gen, curtain!fic-ish with a touch of h/c, angst, schmoop, case!fic and Christmas!
Length: 9,085 words
Disclaimer: If I owned SPN, I'd hold a big party and let y'all come. As long as you brought beer. Thank you, Eric, for creating these lovelies and allowing us to play with them.
Summary: A blown-out knee grounds the Winchester boys in Moon Gulch, Idaho. They get a dog. They discover what a Wishpoosh is. And maybe, just maybe, they become 'people'...
Warnings: Very slight spoilers for Season 7. A few 4-letter words.

Notes: This is my gift for gretazreta at spn_j2_xmas. I hope I gave you a little of what you like! Based on your prompts "Dean's drinking too much", "Sam can't sleep", and "They get a really ugly dog." Kind of a mishmash but I had fun writing it. Happy holidays! :D
Notes, Part Deux: Abundant love and gratitude to my betas tesserae_ and puchuupoet. Generous to a fault and wise beyond belief. Any residual mistakes are all mine. I love you, ladies.
Final Note, I promise: Comments will be received as wonderful little nuggets of joy! And please feel encouraged to leave concrit; I'm hella thick-skinned and many a great lesson has been learned from my gorgeous readers so have at it!
Okay, I lied: There's another fic that takes place in this sort-of 'verse, after 'Good Things': Prayer Bundles

It's a tad long, so if you want to download it, I crossposted over at AO3: HERE.

Because good things do happen, Dean...Collapse )
