Purposive convenient sampling technique employed based on cross-sectional design. Participants were included from different colleges, and schools of twin cities Rawalpindi and Islamabad, Pakistan. Sample comprised of 200 students (Male n= 100, Female n= 100) with age ranged from 12 to 18 years (M=16.53, SD=1.69). Three scales were employed to measure spiritual intelligence, emotional intelligence and identity development in adolescence students. Results revealed that Spiritual intelligence was highly related with more emotional intelligence and identity development in current study. Our study results revealed that spiritual intelligence was playing the role of significant moderator on the relationship between emotional intelligence and identity development. This study found that the spiritually intelligent adolescents, who were less emotionally intelligent, had a healthier Identity development than those who were less Spiritually Intelligent.
Tinnitus is characterized as a perception of numerous auditory sounds in absence of external stim... more Tinnitus is characterized as a perception of numerous auditory sounds in absence of external stimulus. Tinnitus can have a considerable consequence on a person’s quality of life, and is considered to be very complicated to quantify. The aim of this study was to investigate the reliability and validity of Urdu translation of the Tinnitus Handicap Inventory (THI) in Pakistan. It was designed to assess the presence of various auditory sounds without the external stimulus. Scale consists on 25 items having three subscales functional, emotional, and catastrophic. Subjects and Methods: The study comprised into two stages, 1) preliminary study and 2) main study. The results of the preliminary study revealed that the overall scale had high internal consistency [alpha coefficient of Urdu version of THI (THI-U)=0.99, alpha coefficient of English version of THI=0.98]. The overall scale had test-retest correlation over a fifteen days period of interval (0.99). Main study was performed on 110 tinnitus patients. The results of main study revealed that the internal consistency and reliability of Urdu version was (α=0.93). The THI-U and its subscales demonstrated good internal consistency reliability (α=0.81 to 0.86). Results: High to moderate correlations were noted between tinnitus symptom ratings. A confirmatory factor analysis was used to validate the three subscales of THI-U, and high inter-correlations were found between the subscales also results revealed that a three-factor model for the THI-U was most tenable. The results displayed that the confirmatory factor analysis confirmed to validate the three subscales of THI-U. Conclusion: THI-U can present important information about precise facets of tinnitus distress along with diagnostic interviews in clinical practice.
This study was planned to inspect the mediating role of job satisfaction and job stress among per... more This study was planned to inspect the mediating role of job satisfaction and job stress among perceived organizational support, perceived organizational politics, turnover intentions and psychological wellbeing among college lecturers. Using a cross-sectional research design and purposive sampling technique the data was collected from 400male and female lecturers form the different colleges of Faisalabad Division. Six scales were used to measure the all study variables. The current findings displayed that perceived organizational support was positively correlated to job satisfaction and psychological wellbeing. However, it was negatively related to job stress in lecturers. Results also showed that psychological wellbeing was negatively related to turnover intentions and job stress in lecturers. Likewise, the results elaborated that job satisfaction was positively significant related with psychological wellbeing in lecturers. Interestingly, it was negatively related to turnover intentions and job stress. The existing findings showed that job stress was significant mediator between perceived organizational support and psychological wellbeing in male and female lecturers. Results also indicated that the job stress was significant fully mediated in the relationship between perceived organizational politics and turnover intentions for male lecturers. Simultaneously, this mediation was not found in female lecturers. These findings suggest that the job stress is a significant mediator with other job outcomes. The working environment needs to intervene such policies to comprehend the negative consequences of job stress on employees for enhanced performance.
The recent study was designed to inspect the moderating role of forgiveness between the feelings ... more The recent study was designed to inspect the moderating role of forgiveness between the feelings of vengeance and the instance of aggression in Pakistani murderers. Random sampling technique was used based on cross-sectional design. Sample comprised of 103 murderers (Male, n= 41; Female, n= 62), who were incarcerated in Adyala Jail, Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Age ranged from 18-60 (M =34.56, SD = 10.26). Three scales were employed to measure aggression, forgiveness and vengeance in the subjects. The results revealed that forgiveness was significantly negative correlated with vengeance (r=-.55, p < .01), aggression (r=-.27, p < .01) and verbal Aggression (r=-.33, p < .01) in Pakistan murderers. Results also displayed that vengeance was positively significant correlated with aggression (r= .54, p < .001), physical aggression (r= .48, p < .001), and verbal aggression (r= .45, p < .001) in Pakistan murderers. Our analysis further revealed that forgiveness was significant moderator between vengeance and aggression in Pakistan murderers. The study recommends that murderers can be benefitted by an intervention addressing forgiveness. This study would be helpful for clinical and forensic setting to understand the nature of psychological problems and also guide them how to tackle such issues, especially the ones related to aggression and vengeance in murderers.

Student: Thinking About My Homework (Hoover-Dempsey, Walker, & Sandler, 2005) was translated into Urdu for measuring each parents' school involvement. Urdu translated version of Mooney Problem Checklist (Rana, 1995) was used to study problems faced by students. Findings indicated that school related and self-centered problems were significantly negatively correlated with mothers' school involvement and fathers' school involvement for truant students. Results further revealed that truancy (truant and punctual students) was moderator between parental school involvement and problems faced by students. Truant students had more school related and self-centered problems than punctual students that were significantly related to bad parental school involvement.

Truancy and run away from school is leading cause for such drop-outs. The present study was aimed to examine the role of truancy in academic self-concept, self-esteem, and academic achievement through a comparison between truant and punctual students. A purposive sample of 200 students (Truant = 100, Punctual = 100) participated in the study. Age range was 12-18 years. Urdu versions of Academic self-concept (Ahmed, 1986) and Self-Esteem Scales Questionnaire, (Rifai, Ward, Borden, & Wilson, 1995) were used. Results showed that punctual students had significantly superior academic achievement than truant students. Academic self-concept has positive relationship with the self-esteem of the students regardless of being truant and punctual. Self-competence, self-acceptance, and academic self-competence as domains of self-esteem were found predictors self-concept in truant students, whiles self-acceptance and social and physical self-acceptance were significant predictors of self-concept for punctual students. Truancy/punctuality did not play a moderating for self-esteem in predicting academic self-concept. Limitations, implications of the study and suggestions for future research are discussed. This study would be beneficial for educational and clinical setting to enhance self-esteem to improve upon academic success of students.

Studies shows that intergenerational transmission is extremely vital to the language growth and language loss (Brenzinger, et al, 2003, Fishman, 1991). Using the UNESCO framework, the present study investigates the multilingual context of the capital city of Pakistan. Tool of this study is a four point likert scale. The sample (participants) of the study was the three generations of Pothwari speakers (N= 297). Locale of the study was Islamabad and Rawalpindi where majority of population speaks this language. Sampling technique exploited in this study is purposive. The results of this study show a decline in the use of Pothwari in the family domain. As the maintenance and future viability of this indigenous and local language in this scenario is at risk, the underlying insight of the present study is to show the possibility for the protection of lesser acknowledged cultures and indigenous languages.

Sample was collected 200 university students (Female =100, Male =100) age ranged 18-30 from four universities of federal area which are Quaid-E-Azam University, Bahria University, Air University And Nust In Pakista.. Purposive sampling technique was employed based on cross-section design. Two scales were used to asses’ social support and conflict management. The result revealed that social support was not significantly correlated with conflict management styles. The result revealed that females’ university students were more shown social support as compare to male students. Recommendations of the study are that both male and female can equally be benefitted by an intervention addressing conflict management however; female can get more benefit by addressing social support. This study would be helpful for pedagogical and clinical setting for university students. Non-significant results are discussed.

Social adjustment after divorce refers to resettlement of an individual in the society after being divorced and resettlement is in terms of economic empowerment and decision making by her. The current study was investigating the problems faced by divorced women and to figure out the social adjustment issues of divorced women. Social adjustment issues of divorced women were studied with the sample of 15 case studies of Muslim divorced women who were resided in different areas of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, Pakistan. Case study technique was used based on grounded theory. It is concluded from over all findings of this study that divorce effects on women in every spheres of their lives. It impacts on them negatively. Society sees them as stigmatized personality and criticizes them without knowing that whether they are guilty for their marriage termination or not. She feels herself alien and these thoughts put her under grave of psychological stress and social alienation. In this phase, when she goes through from this disturbance, she needs support. Society needs to understand the problems of divorcees rather than to criticizes her and blaming her on her marriage termination. So there is need for awareness and change in the minds of people to do not stress her, understand her condition and must encourage her to begin her life again. The increased awareness of society in this regard will ensure the health of the victimized individuals and the society at large.

The sample size was 100 students (Male =50, Females =50) were incorporated in current research. A purposive sampling technique was employed based on cross-section design. Two scales were used to assess revealed that perceived parental rejection was significantly positive correlated with depression among adolescents students. Results of the study also highlighted that both male and females equally face depression when their parents reject them. Moreover, the relationship signified by the present study will be help in guiding and counseling the parents regarding health personality development of their kids. And these results are also helpful for counselors and professional practitioners while dealing with the adolescents having same issues.

Client is a second born child and has one elder sister. He is studying in class five in a Sir Syed school in Rawalpindi. Client was brought to NIRM by his parents. . He came with the complaints of marked behavioral impairments (i.e. difficulty in organizing tasks and activities, difficulty in sustaining attention, Fidgets with the hands, aggression towards people etc). Client was assessed with the help of informal and formal assessment. Informal assessment includes history taking, interview and mental status examination. Formal assessment included House Tree Person (HTP), Child Problem Checklist (CPC), and Colored Progressive Matrices (CPM). According to DSM-5 criteria, results of the psychological tests as well as case history and behavioral observations seem to indicate that client is having Attention Deficit Hyperactivity disorder. Therapeutic recommendations include parental training, behavioral treatment, and classroom management, suggestions for parents and teachers and cognitive behavioral therapy.

Attitudes are crucial to language loss and vitality (Baker, 1988). Positive and negative language... more Attitudes are crucial to language loss and vitality (Baker, 1988). Positive and negative language attitudes reflect role and status of a language (Tsunoda 2006, p. 59). There has not been any valid and reliable scale to study language attitudes in the perspective of Pothowari language. This study aims to establish the reliability and validity of an expended attitude toward language with translation, cultural adaptation and cross language and cultural validation of the Language Attitude Scale (Hohenthal, 2003) with a sample of 294 Pothwari speakers. Ages ranged from 13 to 95. First subscale with 11 items of scale is measuring positive language attitudes. The other subscale defines negative language attitudes. Response item rating are made 4 point Likert-type scales ranging from the 1(never) to 4 (always). The Committee Translation approach (MCT) (Brislin, 1980; Schoua-Glusberg, 1992; Acquadro et al., 1996 ; Guillemin et al., 1993) was used for translation adaption purpose. The overall scale possesses good internal consistency reliability. Similarly, its first subscale on positive language attitude also established good internal consistency reliability but the second subscale negative language attitudes, has low reliability score because of having less number of items (only three). Furthermore, EFA factor analysis was carried out to explore the covert structure of attitude of language. EFA result revealed those models were exploring the new structure of attitude toward language. According to EFA results, item 2, 3, 9, 10 and 18 were removed from this scale. The scale indicates two-factor suggestion. This is the first standardized scale on this research area in the Pakistani cultural context on regional languages. It reveals two important directions towards negative and positive attitudes. This scale will help analyzing attitudes for indigenous and majority languages. It will be helpful to comprehend the problems of attitudinal variations across various languages. It has educational and cultural implications. To highlight the destructions caused by the terrorist acts in infrastructure, health sector and particularly in educational sector. The study is also aimed at exploring the losses of the local peoples’ in agriculture sector and business including impacts of war on terror on common people (layman, government servants and students).Data was collected through questionnaires from the respondents’ i.e. educationalists, politicians, local leaders, religious scholars, government officials, civilians and the participants of war on terror against the banned terrorist group, Lashkar-e-Islam.The study was undertaken to highlights the impacts of War on Terror on the educated youth and to provide suggestions / feedback to government / non-governmental organizations (NGOs) about the situation in the target area to take practical steps in order to normalize the situation.Major finding of the research shows that most of the people of the area are employed in agriculture, doing government service, businesses and receiving foreign remittances from their near and dear ones from abroad. The research also shows that the situation has affected the social fabric of society, health facilities, infrastructure, education and agriculture of the areas. The research further revealed that militants killed the politician, tribal elders or khans, and government’s employees, army personnel, WAPDA personnel, LHVs and other prominent community members as well as banned recreational and traditional activities. The terrorists have their own agenda irrespective of Islam or nationalism.

Social adjustment after divorce refers to resettlement of an individual in the society after being divorced and resettlement is in terms of economic empowerment and decision making by her. The current study was investigating the problems faced by divorced women and to figure out the social adjustment issues of divorced women. Social adjustment issues of divorced women were studied with the sample of 15 case studies of Muslim divorced women who were resided in different areas of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, Pakistan. Case study technique was used based on grounded theory. It is concluded from over all findings of this study that divorce effects on women in every spheres of their lives. It impacts on them negatively. Society sees them as stigmatized personality and criticizes them without knowing that whether they are guilty for their marriage termination or not. She feels herself alien and these thoughts put her under grave of psychological stress and social alienation. In this phase, when she goes through from this disturbance, she needs support. Society needs to understand the problems of divorcees rather than to criticizes her and blaming her on her marriage termination. So there is need for awareness and change in the minds of people to do not stress her, understand her condition and must encourage her to begin her life again. The increased awareness of society in this regard will ensure the health of the victimized individuals and the society at large.

The sample size was 100 students (Male =50, Females =50) were incorporated in current research. A purposive sampling technique was employed based on cross-section design. Two scales were used to assess revealed that perceived parental rejection was significantly positive correlated with depression among adolescents students. Results of the study also highlighted that both male and females equally face depression when their parents reject them. Moreover, the relationship signified by the present study will be help in guiding and counseling the parents regarding health personality development of their kids. And these results are also helpful for counselors and professional practitioners while dealing with the adolescents having same issues.

Client is a second born child and has one elder sister. He is studying in class five in a Sir Syed school in Rawalpindi. Client was brought to NIRM by his parents. . He came with the complaints of marked behavioral impairments (i.e. difficulty in organizing tasks and activities, difficulty in sustaining attention, Fidgets with the hands, aggression towards people etc). Client was assessed with the help of informal and formal assessment. Informal assessment includes history taking, interview and mental status examination. Formal assessment included House Tree Person (HTP), Child Problem Checklist (CPC), and Colored Progressive Matrices (CPM). According to DSM-5 criteria, results of the psychological tests as well as case history and behavioral observations seem to indicate that client is having Attention Deficit Hyperactivity disorder. Therapeutic recommendations include parental training, behavioral treatment, and classroom management, suggestions for parents and teachers and cognitive behavioral therapy.

Positive and negative language attitudes reflect role and status of a language (Tsunoda 2006, p. 59). There has not been any valid and reliable scale to study language attitudes in the perspective of Pothowari language. This study aims to establish the reliability and validity of an expended attitude toward language with translation, cultural adaptation and cross language and cultural validation of the Language Attitude Scale (Hohenthal, 2003) with a sample of 294 Pothwari speakers. Ages ranged from 13 to 95. First subscale with 11 items of scale is measuring positive language attitudes. The other subscale defines negative language attitudes. Response item rating are made 4 point Likert-type scales ranging from the 1(never) to 4 (always). The Committee Translation approach (MCT) (Brislin, 1980; Schoua-Glusberg, 1992; Acquadro et al., 1996 ; Guillemin et al., 1993) was used for translation adaption purpose. The overall scale possesses good internal consistency reliability. Similarly, its first subscale on positive language attitude also established good internal consistency reliability but the second subscale negative language attitudes, has low reliability score because of having less number of items (only three). Furthermore, EFA factor analysis was carried out to explore the covert structure of attitude of language. EFA result revealed those models were exploring the new structure of attitude toward language. According to EFA results, item 2, 3, 9, 10 and 18 were removed from this scale. The scale indicates two-factor suggestion. This is the first standardized scale on this research area in the Pakistani cultural context on regional languages. It reveals two important directions towards negative and positive attitudes. This scale will help analyzing attitudes for indigenous and majority languages. It will be helpful to comprehend the problems of attitudinal variations across various languages. It has educational and cultural implications. The main objectives of the study work are to know about the socio psychological impacts of WoT on the people of District Peshawar “UC Bazid Khel”. To highlight the destructions caused by the terrorist acts in infrastructure, health sector and particularly in educational sector. The study is also aimed at exploring the losses of the local peoples’ in agriculture sector and business including impacts of war on terror on common people (layman, government servants and students).Data was collected through questionnaires from the respondents’ i.e. educationalists, politicians, local leaders, religious scholars, government officials, civilians and the participants of war on terror against the banned terrorist group, Lashkar-e-Islam.The study was undertaken to highlights the impacts of War on Terror on the educated youth and to provide suggestions / feedback to government / non-governmental organizations (NGOs) about the situation in the target area to take practical steps in order to normalize the situation.Major finding of the research shows that most of the people of the area are employed in agriculture, doing government service, businesses and receiving foreign remittances from their near and dear ones from abroad. The research also shows that the situation has affected the social fabric of society, health facilities, infrastructure, education and agriculture of the areas. The research further revealed that militants killed the politician, tribal elders or khans, and government’s employees, army personnel, WAPDA personnel, LHVs and other prominent community members as well as banned recreational and traditional activities. The terrorists have their own agenda irrespective of Islam or nationalism.
