A Progress Planner plugin

Comment-free Zone

WordPress was originally built as a blog system and because of that has a lot of functionality built-in for comments. You might however not need that at all. If that’s the case for your site, simply installing and activating the Comment-free Zone plugin will suddenly make your site a lot cleaner.

Comments are pretty much everywhere in WordPress. This plugin removes them everywhere. Here’s what it does.

In the admin it removes:

  • the Comments menu item from the admin.
  • the Discussion settings page.
  • the comments column from the edit posts and edit pages overview.
  • the comment section from the admin bar.
  • comment support from all post types.
  • the comment meta box from the post edit screen.

On the frontend it:

  • disable comments on all post types, they no longer render, you no longer have comment forms, they’re gone.
  • disables pingbacks and trackbacks.
  • removes the output of all the comment blocks.
  • removes the comment RSS feeds.

The plugin has zero configuration. You just install and activate it, and then you’re done.
