    Bio

    I’m a small business owner with decades of business experience, and professional developer of communications and business software. WordPress is in my toolkit, I don’t sell WP products (yet).

    I maintain my own servers, create plugins as required, and have geared up to do a lot with React and TypeScript for blocks and advanced WP efforts.

    I try to give back and pay-forward whenever possible for all of this great freeware.
    I can be found in some circles with the pseudonym Starbuck and CaptainStarbuck.

    Interests

    JavaScript, TypeScript, React, NodeJS, WordPress, communications, many programming languages, human languages, mobile apps, bots, AI. Anything creative and fun. I love to create new businesses. I’m a QA maniac and big on documentation. I love to see things work and help businesses to modernize and get more profitable with the help of technology.

    WordPress Origin Story

    I’ve been working with WordPress since it was just a blog, about 2006. Now every time I get an idea for a website I slap up a new subdomain for testing and load up a new instance of WP. I’m a client of WPMU DEV and participate in a number of WP communities. I’ve made minor contributions to common plugins, and provide whatever support I can to fellow plugin users. I also do what I can to contribute comments and requests for core, in GitHub or Slack, sometimes actual changes when I can.
