Bio

I’m a full-time website designer with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Game Art & Design. I graduated in 2007 when the economy failed and as my friends were being laid off and my potential employers were closing their door or selling as fast as they could, I looked for a career path that could provide more stability. With a slight retooling of my skill-set, over the course of a year I built a portfolio of logos, websites, posters, and other projects. Now, I’m a full-time website designer, I freelance on the side, and I am an aspiring short story fiction writer.

WordPress Origin Story

A long time ago (2009) in a galaxy far far away (Arizona), a strong independent mid-thirties graphic and website designer was navigating her way, contract to contract, bounty to bounty, taking care of certain “problems” arising throughout the federation. While being a designer, she focused more on design than development but knew her way around html and css. She was able to read and edit php as well. One day, she was contacted for a contract and although it requested something new called “WordPress”, she sent a bid. She always was the bid first, learn later, type of girl.
She won the contract and found herself in a crash course lesson on WordPress and why sometimes you should read before you jump in. Despite delivering the website a week late, the heroic bounty huntress picked up a new skill and has been using it ever since.
