Bio

I am trained as a Physicist and Mathematician but have always had a strong passion for software development. I left the corporate environment about 15 years ago to follow this passion.

I started up my own company in 2008 in Ireland. Our primary application focus is on Search Engine Optimization and we have since developed SEO software to monitor performance an identify leads and improvement opportunities on client sites (https://leads5050.com).

WordPress Origin Story

I started off by creating my own CMS in PHP about 10 years ago. The CMS worked very well for my needs and I was able to build tools if I found anything was missing. However, soon realized that the fast pace of changes to the Web and the large number of upgrades that were needed to maintain the CMS became time and resource prohibitive so I decided to look at WordPress.

It didn’t take long to realize the flexibility, the scaleability and the extendability of WordPress make it unbeatable as a CMS. Equipped with a better understanding of the WordPress infrastructure and the way that the CMS works, I have never looked back.

I continue to learn and develop on WordPress and look forward to every new enhancement in the system.

I now work on building features rather than maintaining the functionality of a home-grown CMS and look forward eventually to migrating my other systems onto WordPress.
