User Groups List
Displaying a user groups directory in WordPress can help you organize and showcase different user communities on your site. Whether you’re managing a membership site, an online community, or a team-based project, having a user groups directory makes it easy for visitors to explore and interact with various groups. With the ProfileGrid plugin, setting up and displaying a user groups directory is simple and requires no coding. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps to create and display a user groups directory in WordPress, making it easier for users to find and join groups.
Shortcodes
Here are the shortcodes relevant to User Groups.

Today, we’ll be using the All Groups shortcode, which serves as the Multi Group Page shortcode.

To create the Group Directory page, simply paste the [profilegrid_groups] shortcode onto a new page. Start by clicking on “Add New” under the Pages section of your WordPress dashboard, then paste the shortcode.
In this example, the page is named “All Groups,” and the [profilegrid_groups] shortcode has been added. Once you’ve done that, click “Publish” to view your group directory on the frontend.
As shown in the image above, we successfully displayed the group directory in WordPress simply by pasting a shortcode. Additionally, each group icon includes a ‘Detail’ tab that displays its members. This is the Single Group Page, which can also be created using shortcodes in a similar way.
Assigning Multi Group Page
After creating any page with ProfileGrid, there’s an important step to follow. The plugin includes several predefined pages, such as the Multi Group Page, Profile Page, and Login Page. You’ll find a list of these pages under the General option in the Global Settings. To display these pages on the frontend and the menu bar, users need to assign them appropriately.
The image above shows part of the General Settings page. From the dropdown menu next to the All Groups option, select the page you created for your group directory. Any page you publish that matches one of the predefined pages will appear in this list. Once you’ve made your selection, click the ‘Save’ button to complete the process.
