Summary:<\/b>
Harry is the beloved prince of a small kingdom, Louis is the court jester, and Liam's the put-upon personal guard to the prince. They meet Niall and Zayn on a rather clandestine trip to the local market and eventually, through some trial and error, a friendship is made. The months pass and the five grow closer and closer.

Then a series of incidents makes it clear that perhaps Harry isn't so beloved. The queen, fearing for her son's life, instructs Liam to take him away during the pre-dawn hours. Reluctantly, they leave the others behind and head out.

They should know, however, that keeping Louis, Niall, and Zayn away isn't so easy.

Or: Harry's a prince, Louis's a jester, Liam's the prince's guard, Zayn's an artist, and Niall-- well, Niall is kind of special.

Here's the notes I put together for the idea:

Spencer finds Brendon's journal or something and it's about that moment with Gabriel. Spencer's reading aloud about what Brendon's feeling, remembering as a dream. Maybe Brendon writes a question and Spencer reads it aloud and says something like 'that's not how I remember it' and Brendon says quietly, \"They feel more like memories, you know, than dreams.\" and Spencer whips around as Brendon adds, \"Maybe they are.\"

Spencer still doesn't talk about it. They haven't really told Brendon that Jon, Ryan and Spencer are involved, but he knows that Brendon's not stupid. He also knows that Brendon feels familiar to the other two, even though he shouldn't. Maybe because Brendon is familiar to Spencer and they're feeding off of that. It all makes his head hurt, so he tries not to think about it.

It doesn't stop the ache in his chest every time he looks at Brendon though. It's so weird being around him. Every time he looks at him, he can't help thinking he died in my arms<\/i>, ridiculously dramatic. But this Brendon isn't exactly the same. This one is comfortable in his skin. Still beautiful.

Spencer drops his chin, a little shake of his head. It's not an answer, but saying anything is hard. His throat is tight. Liam<\/b> - Liam would be most traditional looking, I guess? That's why I chose this one. Quiet, clean lines, no frills. Perfunctory. A young man looking to impress his father with dedication and hard work. Unfortunately, he's going to learn that there's so much more to life than that.

<\/a>
Harry<\/b> - Harry, on the other hand, wants to look good but he's the casual sort, collar loose, hair a bit wild. He spends his nights in places he shouldn't, friends with everyone he meets. Ink-stained fingers and a wicked smile, obviously charming.

<\/a>
Louis<\/b> - ahhh, Louis. Louis likes the finer things, but finds the traditional lines boring. His words are sharp and quick, colorful. So he always adds a splash to shock, to let everyone know that he never plays quite by the rules. He listens to Harry reading at some back-alley art house and is intrigued.

<\/a>
Niall<\/b> - Niall's the wildcard, the fun one. He could give two shits about societal rules, but his smile's so bright that no one ever really calls him on. This shot is obviously right before he unties his cravat - so restricting - and challenges Louis to see who can drink more lager later the same night Louis sees Harry for the first time. Spends the rest of his time with the horses in Liam's stable.

<\/a>
Zayn<\/b> - Zayn is an import, pretty enough that the ladies of the court spend half their time cooing over his eyelashes and the other half hating the curve of his mouth. He's quiet, but never has a hair out of place. Sleek lines, the best silks. Son of Liam's father's partner. The way he stares at Liam as they go over the books makes both their fathers frown. He finds Harry at the same art house as Louis does, finds him equally fascinating.<\/a>
