What Are Global Site Tags?
Site tags are keywords you assign to your sites, acting as descriptors that make it easier to organize and locate sites within your account. Global site tagging streamlines site management, especially for customers with large portfolios, by enabling quick filtering and better organization. Designed with agencies in mind, this feature is ideal for those managing hundreds or even thousands of sites. For example, you can tag sites with the project name, client name, status, or scheduling cues—turning a potentially chaotic workflow into an orderly, efficient system.
Accessing Site Tags
Account Owners and Collaborators with the manage tags capability can access the Tags menu. Please note that there are no tags by default unless some are added by you or your collaborators.

Alternatively, it can also be accessed from any site’s settings page –

Managing Site Tags
Clicking the Tags menu shows all tags created for the selected Account. Each tag is displayed with its assigned colour icon next to the name for easy identification. Each tag also displays the number of sites it’s attached to, and clicking that number opens the Tag Details page, where you can view all associated sites.

From this page, you can create new tags, delete existing ones, or edit a tag’s details.
Create New Tags
Click Create New Tag to open the tag creation panel. Enter a Tag Name and select a colour for the tag. When you’re ready, click Create Tag to add it.

Delete Tags
To remove a tag, click Delete in the Actions dropdown menu next to the tag.

A confirmation pop-up will appear. Click Delete to confirm and remove the tag.

Edit and View Tags – Tag Details
To view or edit a tag, click the tag name, Sites Attached, or Tag Settings in the Actions dropdown.

This will take you to the Tag Details page, where you can view and manage all aspects of that tag.
- You’ll see the tag’s colour icon, name, and the number of sites currently using it.
- A list of all attached sites, which can be filtered by site name or environment to quickly locate specific entries.

From this page, you can:
- Edit the tag: Change its name or colour.
- Add or remove the tag from all sites: Bulk actions are processed through Solid Queue to ensure safe and efficient updates. Processing time depends on the number of sites affected.
- Add or remove the tag from multiple sites: This feature is available under Tag Actions. Clicking it opens a panel where you can search or filter sites, then select individual sites or all sites to update. These actions are also processed safely using Solid Queue.
- Delete the tag entirely: To remove a tag completely, click Delete Tag in the Tag Actions menu. This will also remove the tag from all sites where it is currently applied.
This central page makes managing tags across multiple sites simple, safe, and efficient.
Site Tags on Site List Page
Tags under each site on the site listing page are now displayed in their assigned colours, making them easier to identify at a glance.

Tags can also be used to filter sites on the Site List page, making it easier to quickly locate, manage, and organize specific groups of sites within your portfolio. When a tag is selected using a drop-down, the sites will be filtered based on the selected tag.

Site Tags on Site Settings Page
On the Site Details page, tag management is made to be very intuitive. Tags for the selected site are displayed at the top in their assigned colours for easy visibility.
Users with Manage Tags permissions can:
- Remove a tag: Hover over a tag to reveal a delete button. This will remove the tag from the site.
- Add or manage tags: Click the Add/Manage Tags button to open the tag management panel. From here, you can:
- Create a new tag and automatically assign it to the site.
- Attach existing tags that are not yet linked to the site. You can select one or multiple tags in the Attach Existing Tags section and click Attach to Site to add them.

Manage Tags Across Different Pressable Accounts
The account drop-down feature allows collaborators to select which account they want to manage tags for. This can be their own account or any account where they have collaborator capabilities to manage tags. Tags displayed are specific to the selected account, and all tag management actions—creating, editing, or deleting tags—apply only to that account.
