I like the enthusiastic sales blurb (October 2025 / March 2026).
All your poses here “various stances and soldiers … self-standing”, “high quality”, “durable”, “can be positioned however kids want to!” “these high-quality Army Men stand the test of time”
As ever they have enthusiastic product blurb such as “Free-Standing” … “constructed from durable plastic to withstand the rigorous play of any little action obsessive.”
“From intricately-detailed action scenarios to your favorite military movies and stories, the Mini Toy Soldier Figurines encourage kids to develop their creativity and imagination whilst providing hours of fun and entertainment.”
Three colour bag contents – for three armies – these coloured 30mm ish versions of old 1970s Matchbox 1:72 US and British Infantry
My last few forays into Poundland stores when in town have shown no new toy soldiers and frequently no toy soldier bags or tubs at all. Moral of this story? Buy them when you see them, as next time…
As a result of this occasional high street scarcity, I have a small stockpile of pound store figures picked up from time to time.
One alternative are the online pound stores such as Toys for a Pound online
Screenshots of online offers like a crafty ‘shelfie’ in store allows me to capture the changing designs and packaging without paying out and clogging up my already bulging toy soldier storage.
Design features above include generic military images in combat green and tan such as ID or officer epaulette stars, soldier combat silhouettes, sergeant stripes, winged paratroop badges.
50 figures for a pound (plus postage) Good value for tuppence each
although I have found in the past such Matchbox copy figures with serious flash in the past, these look relatively flash free.
The graphics on this header card for Action Mission Soldier pack look more colourfully dressed for paintballing or waterpistol fights than military combat
These HTI figures are slowly morphing copies of 1990s Desert Storm style US infantry, widely copied. Original maker? Green and tan standard. Should be c. 40mm – 50mm figures.
If you have more than a pound to spend, K & C King and Country collectable painted 1:30 scale model soldiers have just brought out a Black Hawk Dawn range of such figures.
