Hunger. For about there years now, I don't think I've really been hungry. At times, I get urges to put food into my mouth, but they're for various reasons that generally don't concern genuine hunger. Sometimes I want to taste something delicious (the most superficial level of hunger), Golden Triangle or Veggie Bistro (and as much as Linzi says Veggie Bistro isn't as good as Happy Family, it IS good). Other times I feel like eating something after I go to the gym, but as I begin to eat it, I realize I'm already full. When I wake up in the morning, I don't eat. I haven't eaten breakfast on a regular basis since I was a little kid. After some classes, lunch comes around, and I figure I might as well eat something, it seems normal. I go to the CI, get some food, eat some food, not feeling one way or the other about it, and I'm done, like lunch is a mechanical task, just a habit of mine. Eventually dinner comes around, which I'll either miss because I don't feel like eating, or get something to go which only has two or so parts of which I actually consume. Sometimes I'll miss dinner because I'm at the gym. After the gym, shower, hang around, wait two hours, start feeling really \"hungry,\" and then go to the spot. I buy some food, then begin to eat it... but because I haven't eaten much prior to that, I can't eat a lot at the moment.. so I end up filling up really quickly, and that's the general idea, give or take some meals here or there. <br \/><br \/>In conclusion, I eat about two meals a day, like the average college student, but I still feel this void, a lacking of hunger, and I wonder if I'll ever get it back.<br \/><br \/>2. Video games; but more so, addiction to them. Or addiction in general. First of all, people have the common misconception that video game addicts consider their time as being well spent. They don't. If you've got a little bit of logic in you, you know that the majority of addictions are detrimental, unless you're addicted to broccoli or something. If you consider all the time you've spent playing video games, then compared it to the time you could've been spending learning, working out, copulating, you'd be a fucking smart, hot, disease-infected dude (or lass).<br \/><br \/>So at what goddamn point does this overriding logic kick in and force you to stop playing the games! The human body is an interesting thing, sure. You can get a sickness and your body will fight it. You can break your arm and your body will heal. But where's the organic defense mechanism against games which Blizzard makes? When will the momentary pleasure of owning some noobs be defeated by the enduring benefit of a \"healthy lifestyle?\" And I assume only the person addicted can change themselves, it's not like you get a support group or something, so here in lies another problem-<br \/><br \/>If you've been playing video games a lot for momentary pleasure, you've established this as something you like to do, your body acknowledges it. Maybe, because you enjoy it, your body thinks it's healthy? Either way, you enjoy it. Now, you know, in the long run, it's not healthy, so you decide to stop, right, easy choice? But in stopping, you're depriving yourself of this great pleasure that comes at little cost, aside from the staggering, long-term malady.. which you can't experience to know the pain of because it only hits when it's too late, and.. at that point, you're not even writing this because it's already too late. Either way, you're trading that benefit (with little cost) for a <i>theoretically<\/i> better life, again, which you can't experience because you're still stuck in the addiction.. So the video games are tangible and good and great and at this moment please you, and a healthy life is theoretically much better, and a life of only video games is theoretically much worse, and you know that only you can make yourself stop or start, so what to do? But why even ask what to do? You know what to do, yet you do it or don't do it, and it makes me wonder why can't the human body have a mechanism which makes us operate simply for our own selfish benefit. Why is there even a choice?<br \/><br \/>Someone might say that a video game addict is only interested in themselves, but that's logically not true. Video game addictions are self-destructive, if you're interested in yourself, in your happiness, you won't become self-destructive, at least not for the cause of a video game. In fact, video game addictions are anti-instinctual because you're essentially de-evolving into a static physical being staring at a cathode ray tube.<br \/><br \/>If you're really interested in yourself, you should go out with friends, study hard, play hard, do community service, things that will make you ultimately happy, and extend that happiness as long as you can stretch it.
