I'm with you on all but #5, I can't really argue against it, but starting in other languages I'm just not a fan! I'd also add always use early binding so that you actually get info on the objects your using and can detect runtime errors. Granted most ppl should swap to late binding for compatibility, my working environment is over 20k systems with identical operating images, so not a concern for me, in fact I'm pretty sure performance is better for...

To answer your question: I think the eval function may be what you're after eval(varProcNam e)

Unless someone has disabled the bypass key and not put the code for re-enabling it as the very first code run (wasn't my code just had to fix it!). In that case you'll need to create a second db through which you can re-enable the bypass key and proceed as previously mentioned :-)
