    vbscript vs javascript

    i feel it is useful discussion.
    i had a doubt,
    what is the different between vbscript and javascript.
    which one is best for web application.
    i feel two things are done the same work

    I'm not shure that vbscript is available for all browsers and OS. So I think if you have to use a client-site-script-language in your web-app, forget about vbscript.

      VBScript is only available in Internet Explorer.

        yes ...

        since vbscript is only available for IE you may use it for a strict IE-environment, a companys intranet may be an example for that ... with the slightly different jscript (ms implementation of ecma-script and similar to javascript) you may use microsofts activeX-technology too ... but: that leads to IE-specific apps again ;) ... so: you cannot really compare those languages ... but in case you don't need to work with activeX or any MS-specific stuff ... you should use javascript of course ...

          Javascript is alot more popular making it easier to use. Althought i know a bit of vbscript
