Is there an unix command which shows how "old" a computer is?

Hardware or the OS? Hardware, no, but I don't recall if the Intel processor has that information available. In any case, there would be no Unix command to read it and, if you could, it would only tell you how old THAT chip is.
As for the OS, on FreeBSD there is a command that gives the version and a little more info but I can't recall the command right now.
