    How virus got effected in Windows and Linux

    Can anyone please expalin the details of how virus got effected in Windows and Linux.

    Senario:

    A virus program get into a system.Now how this virus effect the system both in windows and linux. And how it is prevented in Linux

      It wouldn't affect linux.

      First off, if it was written for windows, it probably wouldn't even run in linux.

      Second off, you shouldn't run as a root user in linux. If you're not, then the chances of any malicious script even having access to important files is close to nil.

      You won't have a virus problem with linux.
