This static site is easy and entirely free to set up.
It's design is heavily inspired by Manu's blog. And it focuses on webmentions as a means of interaction.
It is a primitive, selfhosted(almost), customizable (just HTML/CSS), simple and healthy social media.
I ask for your views on it.
Here's the repo: https://github.com/carbonsandoxygens/template.carboxide
Tried poetry after a long time.

I did something stupid with my keyboard:

Situation of my country:
Formatted the corrupted government. Reinstalling GFS (Government From Scratch)
Currently in Live (Interim) Government Scheme until the complete installation with election takes place after 6 months.

For my blog this month I wrote about implementing #webmention on my static site. I hope you guys will find it interesting if not useful.
https://scientiac.space/blog/webmentions/
Has it ever happened to you that the software you use is so good that you just make up reasons just to use it?
I configured #typst on neovim with tinymist and typst-preview and it is so good that I end up spending more time documenting things instead of doing the work.
These days I don't write blogs I just create paper like PDFs and save it on my computer.
My sister is about to buy a Macbook. She is doing media studies and works with a lot of videos+editing+transfer. But she has an android. I assume transferring files from NTFS SSDs and Android's MTP isn't going to work well.
I need some recommendations for "install and forget" daemons that might handle all those things (If it exists.)
Also if there are recommend software to use in #macOS (she is not a techie so no terminal apps) I'd love to know about them.
I wrote about trying to achieve smooth, flicker free boot on Arch Linux.
https://scientiac.space/blog/boot-arch-smoothly/
I did technically achieve it, but it wasn't what I truly wanted. I wanted plymouth to work smoothly as well. So, after reading this, if you know what can be done to achieve just that, do tell me, please! Maybe your friend might know how to, so consider boosting maybe 👉👈.
Enjoy!
It had been some time since I wrote something.
Managed to write this today, It's about tech minimalism:
https://scientiac.space/blog/tech-minimalism/
Giving #qutebrowser a go. I am focusing on battery life so I wanted see if this minimal browser does better. Also I can't stand browsers that don't let me hide the entirety of toolbars and UI except the webpage while browsing.
I have got the hang of it but *adblocking* seems to not quite be adequate for the state of today's internet.
If you have any recommendations for configuring adblock on qute or if you personally use qute I'd love to take inspiration from your config.
First scratch on my #casio royale. It's officially my modded personalized watch now.
Got hickeied by a bunch of wasps on the back of my neck yesterday at campus mechanical garden. My hair brushed their nest while I was jumping through the iron carousel mech folks had made.
I realize that I am tall enough to not be a kid anymore. Sad.
I want to reduce my phone usage and use FOSS Apps. What do you think I should choose?
#droidian #mobilelinux or #lineageos
We have a corporate equivalent to "What you're referring to as Linux is actually GNU+Linux".
Stupid Copilot+PC
Is Gates teasing Stallman or is inspired from him?
I love the fact that #webmentions exist but like all communication things it requires an external active server.
Also, setting it up on a #website adds some more complexity than a "site" wants to have. It's isn't a necessity but isn't unnecessary either. I love the concept of #blogs mentioning each other, connected yet very personal and unique.
But, It's very niche and I haven't seen a webmention that is purely blog to blog, it's almost always social media to blog.
I am not much of a blogger but, I love the concept of a group of friends discussing over a topic in their blog circle and the blogs are connected in a way that it webs everyone but in their own unique style and controlled by themselves.
I just want the internet to be interactive yet personal and independent without any centralization. *If I write more I feel like I'll repeat myself again.*
For someone like me who just uses GitHub to host my #staticsite without having to rent a server, it's again a bit too complicated to support webmentions. I wish webmentions was easier and widely adopted, that's all.
I feel like I have a preference for invisible things.
#elk with hidden navigation inside #firefox with hidden tab/url bars on one of the scrolling #niri workspace with hidden widgets using #wayedges as status bar. Everything gets visible as I hover over the places they need to be.
Now this laptop is finally worthy of calling it a "zen"book.
What client on the web/desktop do you guys use for gotosocial?
For me, I am loving https://elk.zone
