
DANIEL MAUDLIN
I am an architectural history and heritage practioner interested in the everyday spaces and places that enabled nation building and colonial expansion within the British Isles and British Empire. I also write on the theory of settlement and dwelling. Books include Building the British Atlantic World (UNC Press 2016) and two forthcoming monographs with Oxford University Press, 'Inns, Nation, Empire' and Eighteenth-century Architectures.
I am programme lead for the MA Heritage programme at the University of Plymouth, England, where I am able to draw on my background with Historic Environment Scotland.
I am also Director of Plymouth Heritage Praxis Consulting, working with historic sites, museums, heritage bodies and national/local government.
