Manage your photo library with Piwigo

I've been using Piwigo the last few years since Flickr announced their 1,000 photo limit to free users. I used a Piwigo plugin to directly import my 11,000+ photos and groups from Flickr into my self-hosted Piwigo instance. It's been working flawlessly since and I have many of the social interactions expected such as comments, facial recognition, geolocation, ratings, etc.

I have used Piwigo for many years and am very pleased with it. I run numerous websites with various gallery solutions, however Piwigo is by far the best and I use Piwigo on all my important websites. Using Piwigo I can create a web gallery exactly how I want it. In my own case, I want the my photographs to look as good as possible so I have a very simple gallery with large images. I also want the images to be found and that is made easy by the gallery structure and search function.

Piwigo is easy to install and get to grips with. The plugins enable fine-tuning of the gallery with fairly advanced features, such as automatic classification of photos according to tags or user rights management. And of course, it's an open source solution... I'm so satisfied with Piwigo that I regularly suggest this solution to my customers to create their professional photo galleries or photo libraries!
