About David Pinyerd

David Pinyerd is the distinguished founder, owner, and managing attorney of our esteemed law firm. With over twelve years of unwavering commitment to his clients, Mr. Pinyerd has personally represented thousands of individuals in their pursuit of disability benefits. Mr. Pinyerd is a graduate of Indiana University, where he earned both his undergraduate and law degrees. This educational foundation, coupled with his extensive legal experience, equips him with the knowledge and skills required to navigate the intricacies of Social Security Disability and Veteran Disability cases.

About Evan Wheeler

Evan Wheeler is a seasoned attorney who has dedicated his career to providing exceptional client focused service to those seeking disability benefits. With over a decade of experience, Evan has built a reputation for excellence in representing clients before Administrative Law Judges across Indiana and nationwide. Evan finds great fulfillment in serving those in need, driven by a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

Evan earned his Juris Doctor from Valparaiso University School of Law in 2010 and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Purdue University, earned in 2007. Evan is admitted to practice law in Indiana, including the Northern and Southern Districts, since 2010.

Outside of his legal practice, Evan and his wife are raising an amazing little girl. He is actively involved in his local community, volunteering his time to support his daughter and her dance studio as an Elf in their Christmas show and with event security. Evan also enjoys his time with friends and family at the golf course, Indianapolis 500, and supporting the Purdue Boilermakers.

About RJ Jones

RJ is from Cleveland, OH. He graduated from John Marshall High School in 1991 while living on the streets. He joined the US Army Reserve at 17 and became an Operating Room Technician at 18. He worked at the Ireland Army Hospital in Ft. Knox, KY where he was one of the youngest O.R. techs in the hospital.

He joined the US Navy in 1992 and served onboard the USS Nimitz CVN-68 as an Airman in V-3 division. He served in Operation Southern Watch in 1993 in the Persian Gulf enforcing the “No Fly Zone” in the Persian Gulf.

He attended Clover Park Technical College in 2007 where he studied Human Services with a major in psychology. He carried 8 full time classes and maintained a 4.0 GPA and made the Presidents list. He also received his registered counselors license during this period.

About William O'Hara

William O’Hara is a distinguished attorney and Vietnam Navy Veteran, dedicated to representing the rights and entitlements of fellow veterans seeking disability benefits. William O’Hara’s journey into the legal field is enriched by his noteworthy military career as a Vietnam Navy Veteran. He devoted six years to active service from 1964 to 1970, with three impactful “tours” alongside the Seventh Fleet Amphibious Forces aboard the USS Duluth LPD-6. His dedication and sacrifice were recognized with prestigious awards, including the National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal with One Silver Star. This military background has shaped his commitment to service and advocacy.

Exton Cordingley

Exton R. Cordingley was a distinguished attorney with a passion for serving Veterans and individuals seeking Social Security disability benefits. His extensive legal experience and military background uniquely positioned him to provide unwavering support to those in need.

Mr. Cordingley’s commitment to serving his country began with his tenure as a Judge Advocate in the United States Army from 2009 to 2018, where he reached the rank of Captain. During this time, he represented soldiers before critical boards, including the Army’s Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) and the Army’s Physical Evaluation Board (PEB), as well as advocating for veterans before the Department of Veterans Affairs. His dedication to ensuring that military personnel received the care and benefits they deserved was evident in his work.

Our firm is eternally grateful for his contributions to our office for more than 10 years where he helped thousands get the benefits they were entitled to. He was a true patriot in every sense of the word and it was a true honor for us to have known and worked with him.

About Robert A. Morris

Robert A. Morris is an attorney with over 20 years of diverse legal experience, offering a unique perspective to clients seeking Social Security Disability benefits. Having served for nearly five years as an Attorney Advisor within the Social Security Administration (SSA), Robert possesses a deep understanding of how decisions are made behind the scenes and what Administrative Law Judges (ALJs) require to approve a claim.

 

Robert’s tenure with the SSA provided him with comprehensive knowledge of the disability adjudication process. He served as an Attorney Advisor for the Office of Hearings Operations (OHO) and the Office of Disability Adjudication & Review (ODAR), where he directly advised ALJs on issues arising under Title II (Disability Insurance) and Title XVI (Supplemental Security Income) of the Social Security Act. During his time at the SSA, Robert was selected for the Mentor Cadre and received an Exemplary Contribution Service Award.

 

Beyond his work at SSA, Robert brings a multidisciplinary perspective honed through roles in private practice and state government. He has significant experience litigating cases involving complex medical and legal issues, including medical malpractice and worker’s compensation disputes. He presided over appeal hearings and issued decisions based on evidence and administrative codes. In his most recent role with the federal government, Robert served as a counselor conducting independent examinations of complex cases, utilizing advanced research and investigative techniques to resolve intricate legal matters.

 

Robert earned his Juris Doctor from the Indiana University McKinney School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Taylor University. He is licensed to practice law in Indiana, Florida, and the District of Columbia, as well as before the United States Tax Court and several federal district and circuit courts.

About James Barker

Prior to joining the team at Pinyerd Disability Law, James Barker worked as an appeals analyst, attorney-adviser, and senior attorney at the Social Security Administration Offices of Hearing Operations and Appellate Operations. While working for the Administration, James reviewed numerous cases, recommended on the record (OTR) dispositions and further development actions, and advised Administrative Law Judges and Administrative Appeals Judges on hearing decisions and appeals actions, including listing determinations and advising on changes to the regulations and sub-regulatory policy. His diverse agency experience has provided him with an in-depth understanding of the inner workings of the agency, which enhances his ability to provide informed legal advice to the firm’s Social Security disability clients.

 

James graduated with distinction from Ohio Northern University Claude W. Petit College of Law in 2013, and he has undergraduate degrees in geography and environmental studies from Emory and Henry College, and a masters’ degree in geography from Marshall University. James also has prior federal work experience as a contract counselor with the Army Contracting Command, and as a biologist with the National Park Service.
