Treasure Markers - something to fight for! // Znaczniki celów bitewnych

Battle/Target markers for miniature wargaming. They will be used mostly in Dragon Rampant and Advanced Song of Blade and Heroes. Coblestone bases were made by me and bits were produced by various miniature manufactures. As long as I remember these were Ristul's Extraordinary Market, Fireforge Games, minimonsters.eu, Games Workshop and  Perry Miniatures.

Znaczniki celów stworzone do wykorzystania w kilku grach. Myślę że dobrze sprawdzą się w czasie potyczek w Dragon Rampant, Advanced Song of Blade and Heroes oraz okazjonalnie do gier planszowych i D&D. Podstawki zrobiłem sam natomiast bitsy pochodzą od kilku różnych producentów: Ristul's Extraordinary Market, Fireforge Games, minimonsters.eu, Games Workshop oraz Perry Miniatures.

Garden of Morr as the Old Graveyard // Cementarzysko

Using the first weekend that I have spend home since immemorial time I was able to finish the graveyard project ahead of schedule. It were the most productive several days of hobby that I remember and I don't think that this will repeat in the near future.  I encourage you to leave a comment during your visit here at my blog. Korzystając z pierwszego od niepamiętnych czasów wolnego weekendu spędzonego w domu udało mi się zakończyć projekt cmentarzyska przed planowanym terminem.  Trochę swojej inwencji, trochę konwersji, głównie malowanie. W sumie to już piąty post w tym tygodniu i nie sądzę żeby szybko powtórzył się tak produktywny hobbystyczny okres więc zapraszam do dokładnego oglądania i komentowania.

In today's post I present a short step by step  tutorial that explains how I made candles for my cemetery terrain. The process is very simple and essentially costs nothing. The only necessary materials are redundant cable and PVA glue.

W dzisiejszym wpisie krótki poradnik krok po kroku w którym opiszę jak wykonałem świece do makiety cmentarza. Sposób jest bardzo prosty i w zasadzie nic nie kosztuje. Jedynymi potrzebnymi materiałami są zbędny kabel i klej do drewna.

After two long evenings I have completed about 50% of the scenery. I had a few extra bits so I decided to create several additions to the original GW design.  Right now I have to finish the painting and add some details to the bases. I am aiming to finish all the pieces next week. Have a look at my progress so far.
 

Dwa wieczory i cmentarzysko jest skończone już w 50 procentach. Miałem trochę dodatkowych bitsów więc postanowiłem dodać trochę elementów w podobnym klimacie do tych wyprodukowanych przez GW. Pozostało tylko malowanie i wykończenie podstawek. Na poniższych zdjęciach możecie spojrzeć na postęp moich prac nad tą wyjątkowo udaną scenerią od naszego ulubionego dostawcy zabawek. Całą zabawę mam nadzieję ukończyć w przyszłym tygodniu.

New flags // Nowe proporce w skali 28 mm

Today I share with you another set of flags ready to be printed for 28mm scale miniatures. Simply download the file from this location and print it on a standard sheet of A4 paper. 

  

Among them you can find two teutonic banners, two polish coat of arms (Eagle -  City of Peremyshl coat of arms, Lion - Lviv coat of arms) and one flag from Witcher universe. All of them will be used in my current projects. Original designs were found in the web . Summer tip: How to repaint ... a bike:) // Pomysł na lato: Przemaluj swój rower!

Today, something a little bit different than usual. A little painting at the macro scale :) Some time ago due to the start of the bike season I had a chance to refresh a bike, which fell into my hands. It turned out that practical skills of miniature painting are also useful in everyday life. The theory is the same as in the smaller scales, still you need a lot of patience and several cans of paint!

Dzisiaj coś zupełnie innego. Trochę modelarstwa w skali makro:) Jakiś czas temu z uwagi na początek sezonu rowerowego miałem okazję odświeżyć pewien jednoślad, który na pewien czas wpadł w moje ręce. Jak to w życiu bywa w tego typu sytuacjach przydają się zdobywane cięzką pracą praktyczne umiejętności malowania. Teoria jest taka sama jak w przypadku malowania w skali 28 mm, wciąż potrzeba sporo cierpliwości i odpowiednich farb! 

Several new flags // Nowe flagi

Today I share with you some of the flags which were made by my talented sister for me. Simply print them on a standard sheet of A4 paper to get flag suitable for 28mm scale. The first flag which presents the Swan - a polish coat of arms used by Peter Dunin – supreme commander of Polish Army during the time of Thirteen Years' War between Kingdom of Poland and Teutonic Order.  Here you can read more about that interesting conflict which took place in exactly the same time as War of the Roses 

I think that second and third flag do not need an introduction - Two versions of Great Banner of Cracow – main battle standard of Polish Army in Late Middle Ages.

How to build a castle: part IV - bricks&colour testing// Budowa zamku Drakenborg - próbne malowanie cegieł

Today's entry was originally intended to show only the effects of the tests that I carried out in order to find the optimal color scheme for the walls of the castle. Due to numerous inquiries from our facebook readers about the way of creating bricks I decided to show you the process. At the same time, I would like to ask you for help as I am looking for  tips/ideas that would improve the appearance/painting of the catle walls.  I am looking forward for your comments under the post :)

Dzisiejszy wpis miał początkowo przestawiać jedynie efekty testów jakie przeprowadziłem w celu znalezienia optymalnej kolorystyki dla murów zamkowych. Z uwagi na liczne zapytania o sposób tworzenia cegieł postanowiłem przy okazji pokazać wam jak je wykonuję żeby część z was mogła znaleźć w tym wpisie odpowiedzi na swoje pytania. In today's post I'll show you how I made a square tower for my castle. I'm sorry that I publish the entries so rarely but I invest my limited free time in modeling/painting miniatures and I barely find time to sit in front of a computer. I limited the text to a minimum as the steps are fairly well presented in the pictures. Besides that I use mostly the same tricks that I used in the construction of the gate. If you would like to learn a little more about some of my modeling techniques ask in the comments. Certainly I will answer all your questions.

W dzisiejszym wpisie pokażę Wam krok po kroku w jaki sposób wykonałem kwadratową wieżę zamku Drakenborg. Przepraszam, że tak rzadko publikuje wpisy, ale mój ograniczony wolny czas inwestuję w modelowanie/malowanie figurek i nieczęsto znajduje czas na siedzenie przy kompie. Tekst ograniczyłem do minimum, jako że kolejne kroki zostały dosyć dobrze przedstawione na zdjęciach. Poza tym wykorzystuje w większości te same sztuczki, które wykorzystałem przy budowie bramy. Jeżeli chcielibyście dowiedzieć się nieco więcej o jakiejś technice modelarskiej, to zadawajcie pytania w komentarzach. Z pewnością na wszystko odpowiem.

Welcome to our first entry of "How to build a castle". In this series of posts we will try to show and describe the successive stages of small stronghold construction. Knowing our pace, the project may have difficulty to be completed in 2016, however one should always set target to himself at the start;) We are currently at the stage of conceptual work and design. We have not yet decided whether it should be an enclosed construction which can be placed anywhere on the table or should it have a semi-opened structure, so that you can move the models in it. In the second case, the castle will always have to be placed near the edge of the table and only front part of the castle would be built. We have already spent about 6 hours and have not yet achieved any significant progress... Finding inspiration and choosing concept arts proved to be very long lasting. In the first entry we want to show you pictures and scale-models that will use as an inspiration for our work.

Remember that you should not expect to win a painting competition with that. If you have seen our blog before you probably noticed that I am not a freehand champion. Occasionally I make some smaller freehands, I even painted a banner but I was never happy with my level so I decided that I need to find a proper substitute.

Konkursu modelarskiego pewnie tak nie wygracie, ale efekt końcowy będzie zadowalający. Jeżeli przyglądaliście się naszemu blogowi, to pewnie zauważyliście, że nie jestem ani mistrzem freehandu ani nawet studentem tej dziwnej i niezgłębionej dla mnie sztuki.  Okazjonalnie popełniam gdzieś jakiś bohomaz, namalowałem nawet jeden baner, ale nie byłem do końca zadowolony z efektu końcowego i stosunku czasu do jakości. Z tego względu musiałem poszukać innych technik modelarskich, które służyć będą za substytut.
