Yesterday was a fun girls day out for my mom and I, since we were both off from our day jobs. After my mom and I went up to pay the electric bill, we stopped by this thrift store on the way up to Waldorf. It's where Mom and I got some of the cool board and card games we have. I forget what the shop is called, but it's a nice place over in Prince Frederick, Maryland.

Nothing non-DVD caught our interest out of the selection this time, but it's good to check back every two weeks. We got some really fun ones like Hit the Deck card game (it's sort of like Uno), the Dinosaur Game, Gold Digger, Sequence, Ripley's Believe it or Not Trivia Game (still have yet to try that out with more than 2 people), and Mille Bornes (I don't know if I spelled that right, but it's supposed to mean "A Thousand Miles" in French), and Taboo.

We did find some nice books for me to put away at my shop tomorrow.

Then we went up to Waldorf! We looked around Toys R Us at the board games, but didn't buy any. For MOST titles found in actual toy and game stores, they're pricey. It's usually better just to buy them online for cheaper.

Next, the mall! The Suncoast store haaaaad to be the first place to go, because I had a couple of anime volumes to trade in for store credit. For the second volumes of Black Cat and Beck Mongolian Chop Squad I got 5 dollars store credit, so I got an okay deal for purchasing the complete series of Beck Mongolian Chop Squad and Kaze No Stigma! I ALMOST picked up the complete series of Darker Than BLACK's first season, but I'm only missing the first two of that series! (There was a time in which I was a little obsessed with this anime for months on end. It's just that good.) So, next year, if I still see the complete series of what is of course one of the most awesome shows I've ever seen, I'm trading in volumes 3-6 for the complete set. Today, I just finished updating the list of all the anime I have.

Then we were on our way to go search for this one store that opened up that sold calendars and games. On the way, we saw one of our boardgaming buddies from the St. Mary's group. It was a nice surprise to see Bob.

After that we found the store that was mentioned last Friday, and there was this card game that looked very crazy like Fluxx (in which the rules are always, ALWAYS changing), but it's a little like Uno too. It's called Chaos. I got that one for around 6 bucks. Not bad. Then we looked at the small Express Toys R Us to see around the same games we saw at the bigger store nearby. We also LOL'd hard at the brown stuffed dog toy that laughed and rolled and laughed whenever someone moved or laughed.

Mom and I went to one of the Gamestop places on the upper level and I renewed my membership card, mainly so I can get more Game Informer mags in the mail. It's an all new thing now, and I've been putting together my game library on that site soon after activating my new card. I also bought two PS2 games I know I didn't have already; Inuyasha: Feudal Combat, and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. I found out today it was the collector's edition. My mom likes those Splinter Cell games a lot, so I bought it just for her for an early Christmas gift...

I have over 40 PS2 games now. And there's still some I'd like to have! But I know a cousin of mine who has or had this HUUUUUGE video game collection, about almost any video game console system that ever existed. I don't know if he still has them, or if he eventually sold the older systems or not. It's been ages since I last seen him.

If Mom wasn't hungry yet didn't feel like eating out, we would have stopped by the Borders store to see what they had for board and card games there. On the way home I eventually got hungry too. So we went home and had lunch with Dad. Dad needed some stuff for his foot and a tub stopper so he could give himself a good scrubbing, but we got all the Waldorf shopping done first.

After lunch, we went up to the Walmart in Prince Frederick. I wanted to go see if I could get any Barlow Girl, 12 Stones, or Evanescence CDs I don't already have--and oh my God. The CDs are all one shelf over there! Just one shelf! The selection over there shrunk down very significantly from the last time I was there, in which was some months ago. A shocking sight for any music lover to see. The lady at the counter near the electronics said they moved the section and that those CDs were all they had during that time. Really, Walmart? Really?

I didn't find what I was looking for exactly, but I like the alternative band known as Trapt. They have a new CD out, so I got that...and I decided to check and see what PS2 games were on sale and I also got Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories (in which is what inspired the awesomely epic RP game known as paixaorpg).

Best Buy, Borders, and probably Target are the only places left in Southern Maryland that have good, various music selections.

...Oh, and mom got what my dad needed at Walmart too.

Our last stop for the day was Food Lion. I stayed in the car to look at the instruction manual for the Kingdom Hearts game and look through the lyrics to see if there were any songs that could inspire any of my writings for characters. I did find one to add on my custom soundtrack for Nana (Elfen Lied anime)! And maybe one that may seem Kazuma from Kaze No Stigma appropriate.

Gave the Trapt CD a listen when I got home and it sounds very good so far, and the Inuyasha game is fun so I might go play some more of that soon.

Later on, maybe tonight or tomorrow I'll share the Redneck's 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. I was looking through some of my stuff in this box in my room and found it again. I've shared it before, and for all these years I still have it printed out among these funny jokes I found. And I feel this amusing Christmas tale should be known again.
