The Talk + 2 Pics

So I got to talk to one of the owners of the marketplace area I work in, just after I opened up the shop.

I know the guy of the two isn't all that great of a business owner, but at least he's a decent guy. I showed him where there was still a bit of a mess leftover from those drunken people since Saturday night during and/or after that country music concert. I didn't want to cut myself picking any of the broken beer bottle glass up, and I didn't have any gloves with me. Also, I showed him that hole in the wood platform some of those statues were on. Probably the hole was made by one of their cars or something...

I say were because that platformed has been removed today. Those glass pieces should be removed by now too.

I was told they'll do their best with the supervision in the near future. I sure as hell hope they'll bring flashlights and extra batteries. If it gets so dark out, so you say, then why aren't your supervisors using flashlights?? You dunder-heads! >.> It's not rocket science or anything like that.

As for the plants I grow and cherish, FROM NOW ON during concert events, when it's close to closing time, I'll just bring them inside before locking up and turning the lights off.

Aside from that, I earned a little money and got more of my Death Note story written. I rewrote chapter 2 entirely as a nice builder to the emotional awesomeness that is chapter 3 I started!! I'm quite happy about that, and looking forward to posting chapter 2 later.

And now, here's something else nice--that I forgot to post last week.Collapse )

Oh and I've been catching up on my LJ scrap booking a little, before doing more roleplay writing or getting ready to add more to my AMV. I'm almost done looking through the first half of 2005 entries.
Why did I snag so freaking many Light Yagami icons?

Because the two I have of basically the same character are different mentally? One is a 23 year old crazy sociopath with a god complex, while the other is a 17 year old high school senior who's so determined to do the right thing to help someone my kinda-self-insert simulation that can't really help herself out of a very bad situation. Both of them are very human characters with various expressions. Extra icons to use when roleplay writing as either of them. Blame LJ for my love of icons, okay?

My other reason...I got a bit carried away. I still have a bunch to go to put up on TinyPic. So far I've got 3 folders in the Favorites bar full of Light icons. *shows some of them, including how I named these icons to go into the folders.*

Very evil Kira-Light smile - "You're all going to die."

Because I'm GOD, bitch!

Cautious

Socializing

Small Cute Smile <-This is definitely one of AU Light's icons. One of my faves for him.

Malicious Kira

Oh noes!

Seriously Determined

*Sigh* I'm surrounded by idiots...

The rest of the Q&A found under this cut.Collapse )
Just finished uploading the pics, and my wireless internet's behaving this morning, yay.

Multimedia from a typical Friday, taken in chronological orderCollapse )

Now I must get ready for work.
No idea why I was so thirsty, but I feel quite good.

I had to make some to get a refreshment when my mouth was feeling very dry.

Well, nobody was interested in books today, but at least I did some fun things and some productive things; weed pulling from my potted plants, cutting off that vine twig that somehow got past one of the windows, edited some pics I took on my phone, and took some new pics and a new video in which I've yet to put up soonish...

Read up on some of you, that I did. So now...to get these handful of pics onto tinypic, and hope they all upload CORRECTLY.
Work went off to a bit of a crappy start when opening up shop, but at least I saw that one of my strawberry plants has a new blossom on it!

I had to put some muscle into getting some grassy weeds away from my strawberry plants, and after that I recorded that video on my way to step out for a few to go buy my big Brisk juice drink. As I was walking over there, I just happened to sing some of the COPS theme but instead of "bad boys, bad boys" it was "bad weeds, bad weeds". I thought about them as the evil mastermind plants that were maybe trying to dominate over everything in their way.

So I decided to write a silly rap song about it, and did this following video shortly after I finished writing the lyrics:

LyricsCollapse )

Yeaaaah. I'm such a goof sometimes. LOL!

So I fixed lunch, and then sketched some more. I drew Mao successfully the way I wanted (he'd be the animated cat in my icon), so now all I have to do is finish the background! It's been four days since I started on this mental snapshot.

Still so far so good! I put in three of my handful of heart shaped erasers into my box, in case I'm going to end up sketching, erasing, nit-picking, sketching, and then erasing again. They work very good.

I made sure to give those weeds the punishment they deserved before it was time to close up and go home.

My dad's into plants also, and he's where I got my green thumb lovin' from. I sang the rap for it, and he enjoyed it. :) Mom thought it was cute. :P

It's been an overall good day!

It was in the 70's and the forecast on my phone reported it was going to be rainy, so I made sure to take my umbrella. Although it barely rained at all! Oh well...

When I stepped out the door to wait for the bus, I could not help but look at this pretty plant near the neighbor's house across the street and to the right. I have no idea what this plant is but it caught attention for about a minute.

Just after I opened up the back gate on the way to my bookshop, I started to consider taking those bunches of pictures with my little JP raptor I call Shorty, for raptor_family. It wasn't until after I finished opening up and turning everything on that I started doing it. I figured I might as well get the outdoors part done before it would rain--but it didn't. So I watered the potted plants again today. All in all, it was very nice out! Had a good time placing Shorty here and there from the back gate all the way to just outside my shop. I'll have a Shorty update on there after I'm done fixing and eating dinner. It's going to be divided into different parts, with the photos and little commentary from the dino's perspective. I already thought of what he'd say in telling the tale of his epic new adventure...

I started enhancing and brightening the dark ones on the old PC (as well as making an icon for Shorty from now on when it comes to posting as him) for a while before I went out to buy a cherry Coke. As nice as today has been, it's also been slow. Only had one browser.

Anyway, after lunch (leftover pizza, a nutty buddy bar, and soda), I got back to sketching. I got started on Sokka!! It's looking overall very good so far. I finished drawing some of the basics of his head, down to one arm and hand. Took a long while to do, after finishing up on drawing in the top of the bookshelf he and Mao will be in front of and got part of the next row started. His whole arm and hand I did was the most challenging for today. I also got most of his facial expression, an ear, and the start of what his outfit will look like.

In my previous entry, I mentioned that I hadn't decided which of two postures and expressions Sokka would have when speaking to Mao. Today I decided the "What are you talking about?" expression over the "Aww that sounds soo cute!"

As I was sketching, I had decided not to color after all the pencil work is finshed. Because some of these details are very, very small--and I don't think some of them would be seen very good once it's colored. (Very small titles written into the spines of some of the books, and Sokka's hand for example). Sooo I'm just going to have it be a pencil sketch. If I want a colored Sokka, I would have to draw him bigger. The same goes with Mao, because he will be drawn even smaller! His collar and bell attached to it will be tiny! So no, no color for this one. Just shading.

Now I must get dinner started. Be back soonish!

Today on the bus (that I ride Wednesday through Friday to work) I was thinking about sketching a funny scene with Sokka from A:TLA and Mao from the Darker Than Black anime.

More under the cut - mostly some pictures of nice things.Collapse )
It's been months since I last updated, so now that I started just blogging and saying hi to buddies around here, I ought to start posting here again! ...Where do I even start? XD

I think I'd better welcome Paul on my friends list first, aka, pmeister. A while back I found an introverts community around LJ and left an intro post. Paul found it and so now I have a new LJ buddy. :D

Now to talk about work, I guess. Well, until the cold weather comes back I'm still working five days a week, unless there's an auction going on during one of the days I'm off, so I go to work on those days too.

My bookstore business has been picking up slowly overtime, and that's always good. Still filling the shelves with many various books... As for the potted plants, I've been watering and growing strawberry plants this year! Only sold a few out of the twenty I had in all, but it's been interesting to watch them grow. They've already all flowered and grew berries by now, because they did it quickly! Very soon my mom and I are going to take the remaining ones home and plant them. My dad and I are hoping to buy some other berry growing plants, and maybe some hostas from this guy we know. Maybe tomato plants too?

Picture time!Collapse )

What else I've been up to... Every other Friday for tabletop meetup has become every Friday now, so that's been awesome. We (Mom, myself, and the four to five other core members) met two, no three new gamers who happen to like the games we have. They're becoming the new regulars, yaaay! We love new people.

Of course, the tabletop collection at home has expanded a bit more. There's this card deck building expansion Mom won as a door prize at High Tide called Ascension: Immortal Heroes I started to really like. The artwork is very cool, and the uniquely shaped gem pieces represent victory points for monster battles, depending on how many militia, heroes, and weapon constructs you have to help you win the battles. Also, the more rune cards you have, the more you're able Mom and I hope the base game for this, Storm of Souls, will come into High Tide Games soon. We really want to show our buddies this game, and see what other cards there are.

Another new one we have is a simple quick strategy card game called Loot. It plays out a bit like the classic War card game but the higher number of skull and crossbones win you the merchant ships. The pirate ship cards come in some different colors so you can tell who's attacking which merchant ships. There are also the Captain and Admiral face cards that are among the highest of value cards to play. You have to play as many merchant ships as you can, or else if you get a lot of them still in your hand, you'd have to subtract those from your total winnings. The art on the pirate face card art is amusing. Last Friday Mom and I introduced this game to the guys and they liked it.

Some recent videos I recorded...Collapse )
Whenever I get so sucked into fun RP times in addition to getting busy with real life stuff, my updates are drastically slower. ^^;

First, I managed to friend h00towlsh00t back. Hey Lu. :D Did you see the Amalgam Doberman post I put up a while back?

I've gotten back into drawing again, a bit. I'm lazy with it though. Drew and scanned sketches I did of the Nexus world that's the setting in my musebox comm. thespace_ooc <-They can be seen there! My wind magic user guy has this biiiig mansion. I imagine he's charged people to pay him that aren't part of the merry--err maybe not so merry--band of scrambling heroes whenever it comes to disposing of cyborgs and Xel'lotath monsters. That's how he makes a living and he's gotten very rich because of that. LMAO and Kazuma doesn't like my drawing of his mansion exterior. I haven't scanned it yet, but maybe this week I will! The guy's from an anime called Kaze No Stigma by the way. It's a really good series. Some of the episodes get a little intense, but I recommend it anyway!

This would relate to my latest excitement over my musebox.Collapse )

All that fun RP stuff aside, I might as well mention that I'm slowly getting back into theatre. I went to a few auditions for this local community theatre that want to do the British mystery farce called "The Murder Room". It's this funny word play silly thing that's about this woman who's a gold digger who tries and fails miserably to kill her husband. First, she tries to poison his cocoa but he fed it to the cat. Then she tries to shoot him but there are blanks in the gun. XD And then later the Constable with the inspector guy investigate the disappearance of the man. There are these other characters too, the American that ditsy chatterbox Susan is engaged to. She brings Barry home to meet the family when--oh no! Her dad is missing! There's also this housekeeper, Lottie. There are six parts to this show. If you search "The Murder Room" on YouTube, there's a little clip someone recorded from a production of the play. It's a funny 3 minute long clip.

I tried out for Susan and Maevis (the gold digger wife), and I've yet to hear back from the director if I get call backs. My dad, who's been into theatre for a really long time, he wants to be helpful behind the scenes of the show. Assistant Director, maybe? Like he used to be at one of the local high schools? He helped put on some really good shows...before he had to retire. >.> A kind of a good thing he did though, because his health and sight is not as good as it used to be. And he taught a LOT of high school classes. He was a really, really busy guy then. So, I don't know if he'll be able to get involved with The Murder Room or not.

I've yet to watch more of those VHS tapes on acting that Dad is letting me borrow.

What else... The deep red Asian day lilies have already bloomed and withered. I don't know why they're not in bloom for long. It's sad! They're my favorite of the perennials that I sell outside my bookstore. The All Rounds in their pots have yet to bloom. One bud is already showing. I hope for some of these potted plants to get new homes. That way room can be made for more herbs, perennials, or even vegetable plants!

Haa... Big sharing post this time.

Yeah I've been having some more fun with my phone. Pff I just wish I could zoom in and out of the picture with the camcorder feature. Filming the animals that live around the marketplace without it will have to take some superb stealth skills.

7 videos, one picture in all. This should keep y'all busy! Until I can get up the 4 videos that shows you a tour of the house my family and I live at, there's a lot to look at. :P

Cutting this! Biiig post. ^^;Collapse )
