Day 1: Recent Picture and 15 Facts<\/b>
This one is my most recent selfie. What I'm holding is a half eaten plum! Mmmm, plums are one of my top favorite fruits.

Okay, I'll come up with 15 facts about me you probably don't know about me yet.
01: I'm near-sighted in my right eye.<\/i>
Not that it's really all that big of a deal to me to begin with. It's not really in my way of living my life. I've been born with a lazy eye. I haven't gotten picked on or questioned about it by nosy people either...
I'd only need to wear glasses when driving, though, getting a new pair and<\/i> renewing my driver's permit to master parallel parking in order to get an official license is too much of a bother, because altogether is expensive<\/i>. I never liked wearing glasses to begin with. Keeping track of them and in good condition was a constant annoyance when I went to school at times. ...Contacts are just for people who can't see well through both eyes, right? I don't know, I probably wouldn't bother with those either.
I'd rather save up for something else that's expensive. It's not like I have to go out often either. Riding the bus to work is also cheaper than paying for gas! Much<\/i> cheaper! (Having a ride back home after work is not a problem for me.)
02: I've traveled out-of-state twice in my life so far.<\/i> I once been to North and South Carolina. One summer, when I was still in high school, I went to South Carolina for this youth group camp. I went to the same kind of camp, though the location was in North Carolina that next summer.
Hilton Head, SC, was a nice looking suburbian area. I remember it being very hot while I was helping out in painting someone's house.
During the following summer, I was in Greenville, NC. This was sometime in the summer after I graduated my junior year in high school. The ankle I sprained by accident over there was pretty much recovered, though to be safe, I was assigned a different task to help people out, by interacting with these cute kids at a Boy's and Girl's club place.
I have these old photos friends and I took with disposable cameras those two summers. (I might share them in a later entry.)
03: I share my dad's genes for the love of music, theatre\/show tunes, and writing.<\/i>
My writing origins come from him. Long ago, I once helped him name some of the main characters for this children's story that was only locally well known for a time, titled The Land of Lost Socks<\/i>.
Sometime during the middle of my sophomore high school year, I was invited to join my dad and some of his theatre students for the Maryland State Theatre Festival. I think that was when I first started to get really interested about theatre. I had so much fun at the improv workshop, and seeing people from the different high schools across the state, and the shows they've done. Those two days in the winter of 2001 was a blast.
My dad knew how to play various instruments, including the piano, and a guzheng he used to own--which is this Chinese string instrument. It's amazing. Go look that up on YouTube!
Some years back, before the organ we had wasn't slowly wearing out with age, he played that while I played on one of the few keyboards I still have.
04: In relation to having keyboards... I can play just about any melody by ear!<\/i>
I self-taught myself this from when I was very young. I never had piano lessons, and taught myself how to play the keyboard. It all started with the really simple stuff like Jingle Bells<\/i> and Mary Had a Little Lamb<\/i> to a bit more complex melodies from New Kids on the Block songs (yeah, I used to like them loads) and the Indiana Jones theme.
05: My first ever completed fan-fiction happened when I was 9 years old.<\/i>
I still remember the title of this, \"The Jaws of the Jurassic\", named after this song I sang in 3rd grade choir class about dinosaurs. Yep, you guessed it. I had dinosaur characters in this, though this fanfic crossover was just absurdly wrong, lol. The other main characters in this story were Sonic the Hedgehog and two of his friends; Tails and Princess Sally. In the beginning, Pongo from 101 Dalmatians briefly appeared as working as the head butcher.
I won't really go into anymore details on what the story is about, etc. Just know it was written terribly, and the plot hardly made sense in some places. XD
06: The very first anime series I've ever loved: Samurai Pizza Cats!<\/i>
It used to air on Saturday mornings, ages ago when I was a little kid. I have the opening theme song burned on a CD. I'd totally own this series on DVD if I see any volumes or a boxed set of this in a store.
To this day, I still think this old is adorable.
07: I've been told once that I write like a 17-year-old.<\/i>
Someone on this chat that looks almost exactly<\/i> like the one in the anime Durarara!! mentioned this to me on MSN Messenger--while it was still around, as Windows Live Messenger.
I've taken as a compliment, lol. I'm 31 as I type all this out, but I still don't feel old! I hope I'll always be 17 on the inside... That may not even happen, but it's nice wishful thinking to hang onto.
08: Back when I was a shy, quiet kid at school--there was this childhood friend who would sometimes call to talk to me on the phone.<\/i>
On the phone with her, I talked up a storm. I never really socialized much towards the end of elementary school throughout most of middle school. I got picked on a lot, and often felt like an outcast most of my peers there.
Now that I'm starting to think about it, my bad habit of bragging a little too much that would once in a while happen started while on the phone at home, yakking that poor girl's ear off. She didn't mind it all that much though, bless her tolerance. ^.^ I don't blab out loud much at all these days. Sometimes in person, I tend to appear as reserved.
09: I used to collect loads of stuff when I was so young!<\/i>
Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars. Pogs. Bird feathers. Sand Dollar fossils (big ones in particular). Stuffed animals. Sports cards--only because I liked the pictures. Rubber snakes, and other toy reptiles...
I still have most of these things. I'm inwardly debating on starting a yard sale out front of where I work. The only reason I've kept the little cars is because so the kids can play with them some while babitting them. Now that I'm hardly asked to babsit for anyone's kids these days, I'm debating about holding out an outdoor yard sale over at where I work.
10: My newest favorite thing in my room is this gorgeous stained glass cat vase. One of my board gaming buddies let me have it! <3<\/i>

11: When I'm off work, sometimes I stay up as late as 2 AM to 3 AM.<\/i>
However, later on when I get up in the morning it's hours later into late morning. When I'm feeling tired and drained at work on a slow day, I relax and take a 30 minute nap.
12: My most favorite kind of food is Italian!<\/i>
Pizza, spaghetti, tortellini, calzones--Mmmmm! I like most foods though Italian is number one. Chinese comes at a close second because I like the way they prepare food. Love their pork fried rice! :)
13: I got to pet a deer once.<\/i>
This was years back, somewhere in the early 2000's when I went with my youth group to a winter retreat at Camp Lake Summit, located somewhere in Emmetsburg, miles west of the Calvert County area I've lived in all my life.
This was either a young male deer that hadn't grown his antlers yet, or a full grown female deer. The animal was really tame, and wore this bright orange collar. Petting a deer feels very similar to petting a dog. No worries; I didn't get any ticks after I got to pet him (or her). I also got to be in a photo with the deer and some of my youth group friends.
14: I still collect some things, though not nearly as much as I used to so long ago!<\/i>
DVDs of most favorite movies and TV shows. Manga. Fave anime on DVD. CDs of my favorite music artists... I've collected and sorted favorite YouTube videos into various playlists.
15: I have the same birthday as one of my most favorite movie comedians of all time; Jim Carrey!<\/i>
January 17th. That guy's amazingly talented and hilarious! It's just as amazing to share a birthday alongside him. :D Some movies he's in that I have on DVD are Liar Liar, The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Number 23, and Bruce Almighty.<\/a>

Now that I've said all that, it's time for me to post the real reason I'm really updating after such a long while. I agreed with my AIM\/LJ buddy Valerie (
<\/a>petit_moose<\/b><\/a><\/span>) for us to share one of two versions of this amusing song that's about this online game I've played a few times, called Plants VS Zombies<\/i>. It's a really cute game! Go on PopCap.com to try it out.This song is just adorable and so amusing. Valerie likes the animated version more, while I really like the live action version--I am more amused over the live action. Just think of this as some belated Halloween silliness, or something like that.
Mari first meeting Once Upon a Time's Captain Hook AKA Killian Jones.<\/a> Completed. It doesn't end well but all in all this went on for about a week and it's an awesome scene! A few amusing parts are in this too.
Mari meets and befriends Elsa from Disney's Frozen!<\/a> This one is still on-going. It's adorable in places, and dramatic (and sad) in other places. They have quite a bit in common and they're going to be BFFs. I just know it. ^_^
Mari meets L Lawliet for the second time ever.<\/a> She's already great friends with a Mello. :D

My board game meetup group has been growing a bit lately! Yay, we love new people. The five to six core members (including my mom and myself) still come. Still loads of fun and laughs going to meetup every Friday night. The home board gaming collection's grown a bit too. Evil Baby Orphanage is a really fun one. So funny, and adorable. Forbidden Desert is this awesome challenge of a co-op game. I got to pick one out on my birthday in mid-January called Gravwell: Escape from the 9th Dimension. Gravwell's gameplay is different and unlike most games I've played ever.
Look those up sometime! They're all really great games!
I'm looking forward to International Tabletop Day this Saturday. It'll be the second one ever at the gaming store. I know I had a lot of fun last year, and got to play 2 new ones. I hope to get Infernal Contraption one day. That one is awesome...
I've found a great free online gaming site called Kongregate.com. Caracassone can be played online there<\/i>! I actually haven't lost any because I've played the actual tile game several times. XD There's a lot of other really cool and fun ones on there like Effing Worms and Effing Worms 2, Doodle God 1 and 2, Doodle Devil, and Obey the Game. My SN there is GoHammerBot, after the fact I always choose HammerBot whenever I get to play Robo Rally with friends.
I want to play more of Doodle God 2 sometime soon. It's this interesting puzzle game in which you combine elements (Life, Earth, Fire, Water, Human, Metal, Stone, Beast, etc) to make new elements. There's 196 elements in all, a bunch more than there was in the first one (115), that I completed recently.
Doodle Devil is the darker version of Doodle God, which includes the seven deadly sins for elements.
There are some funny combos in these. It's funny because it's true... (Vodka + Human = Alcholic, Vodka + Beer = Hangover, Sex + Money = Censored, Pride + Human = Politician...)
I think I'm a little addicted to the Doodle God ones. For a while I was hooked on Effing Worms, which is crazy funny. It's roughly like a game version of that movie Tremors, and you get to play as one of those man-eating worms.
Yeah, it's basically like that. lol. I like the original a little more than its sequel because as I was playing that, I was like OMG that worm is getting so big and fat! Is it going to take up the whole screen? XD It's not like that in the other one I played.
Oh, I realize I should get back to writing the parody lyrics of \"Doctor Worm\" by They Might Be Giants. (Look up that song, it's ridiculous.) The parody lyrics are about the worm in Effing worms. Here's what I put together so far<\/i>, the first chorus and first verse;

Random thing #2 is... This week, there have been a quite a few birds that have happened to fly in through the open door to my bookshop. Today included. I don't know if it's just flying in the wrong direction confused or if they're trying to be adventurous. I'm wondering if it's the latter. I wonder if the birds have all been getting together to dare each other to fly into my store. Today it took a while to get one panicky little birdie to fly back out the way he came in. He'd try to bang up against or fly through the window. (This happened I was in the middle of trying to finish Collide, chapter 13. It was a bit annoying and distracting.) Really, I surprised myself when I first wrote about him... I hope he'll get a chance to be around again soon, before he meets my \"Sim\" of an original character. 8D

I got a large chunck of chapter 11 written for it! My main OC, or Sim Mari as I call her... Her paranoia is progressively getting worse now. She's freaking out some on a what if: What if her family was somewhere else where in Death Note Earth?? Oh dear. Still rooting for AU Light (*cuddles this adorable muse*), his (badass) dad, Aizawa, and even Matsuda<\/i> of DN Earth to try and sway her to decide to get out of her self entrappment. Go them! Save her from herself!
See, she reasonably fears what she knows about the Death Note fandom, a lot<\/i>, and is being OH so careful not to have AU Light become Kira or someone else go crazy and become Kira that would lead to dying of a heart attack or worse... She feels the only two people she could trust all the way, without her life being in danger, is L and Watari.
But this safe plan won't work out.
I've also been aiming to finally get my AMV done. The music vid is about 60% done now! I've finished up to the really challenging part that comes next. I'm making mini clips out of the episodes I want footage of for the crazy-good bridge ending part, cramming as many of the characters in the Mello and Near arc and chaotic stuff as I can to the tempo. OMG that will be intense and awesome!! Also, of course, frustrating<\/i> because Windows Movie Maker sometimes freezes up a few times and I have to close it down then open it back up. I click the floppy disc button or go Ctrl+S to SAVE A LOT so I don't have to trim certain video footage and edit it the way I want all over again...
Apart from that altogether Mom and I have been concerned about Dad's health lately. He can't eat and digest much solid food without throwing it up. He's been mostly drinking Gatorade and napping this week. I think Dad said he got sick after eating a sub sandwhich from Subway? I wonder if that's what made him sick? I don't know. I'm clearly doing something right in how I'm developing the plot of Collide. Like--check out all that positive feedback under Reviews! All of this I got within about a week. I love my readers. I do try to interact with them and read their written works if it interests me. Also, their excitment I absorb and get excited and motivated to keep going with this story. :D Got a good start on the 8th chapter today!
- I have the most awesome mom ever<\/i>. Before I say why, I wish more people could say that about their moms, and that they would care and love them, not<\/i> project on them or put them down. That depresses me, mostly. :( It's just not fair or right...
Mom got me 5 CDs for 5 dollars while she was at this clearance sale thing at a local library; Red Jumpsuit Apparatus's \"Don't You Fake It\" (love this one, I am hooked on this band), The No Doubt CD I've been listening to (it's decent so far, like some more than others), Switchfoot's \"Nothing is Sound\" (can't go wrong with Switchfoot!), a Stone Temple Pilots CD (pretty good), and a Smashmouth CD I've yet to listen to.
- A good start to my week, work-wise. Sold a few books, and someone donated me some nice paperbacks. :)

I've watched up to episode 24 of the series by now. Been marathoning the series and working on the AMV pretty much all week at home. At work, I've been writing more of \"Collide\" chunk by chunk. Chapter 5 currently in progress!! In writing and reading stuff over and over again the story itself feels realistic<\/i>, and oh mah gosh I've been having a blast writing out the emotions and thought processes. The POV switching back and forth between my sorta-self-insert and AU Light makes things interesting too. (In the not too soon future, I might do a Ryuk POV chapter! We'll see.) I'll do the final edit for chapter 3 sometime over the weekend maybe, before posting it. :) I'm perfectionistic over this story like a BOSS, hahahaha...

Chapter 2: Concern
\u201cThank you.\u201d Mari was barely able to keep her voice steady now. She was looking very upset. There was still a very noticeable fear in her eyes, but at least the panicking had stopped.
Honestly, he wouldn\u2019t have been sure on what else to do but to let someone sedate the poor woman. Light still felt deeply bothered at the brief shock in those blue eyes, just before Dr. Suki came into the room. What was that all about? She was calming down, but when he introduced himself... Maybe it was just her being afraid around Dr. Suki\u2014but she listened and stopped freaking out when I first talked about going to get a doctor, so no that can\u2019t be it...<\/i>
Light kept holding her hand to reassurance and comfort her as clearly needed. So why did her eyes get so big when I told her my name? She can\u2019t know me<\/b>. We just met... So weird. Maybe she\u2019s just jumpy. I\u2019m sure it\u2019s very hard for her to cope. She doesn\u2019t seem to remember much, and I understand her confusion and distress. This must be so difficult and confusing for Mari-san right now.<\/i>
Of course, there was that strange object he had heard drop into the dirt just beside Mari. That notebook... It has<\/b> to be a prank, but why go so far to make up so many spooky rules?
But, as extreme and elaborate it may be, I should focus more on Mari-san. She needs serious help, and I can\u2019t just ignore that... Dad will help too. I know he will.<\/i>
He used his free hand to retrieve his phone from a pocket on the inside of his uniform coat pocket. He turned it on and started to thumb through his contacts, in which was a long list of family, friends, and the numbers of young women he\u2019s kept in there for reasons he couldn\u2019t recall right now. He couldn\u2019t even begin to think about other women at this time\u2014just the one who was hurt and incapable of helping herself.
The right thing to do was to let his dad know where they were, and explain what had just happened.
As for his teacher, Takinawa-sensei, Light remembered him saying he wasn\u2019t going to be able to come down and see to if Mari was all right. That\u2019s why Light had volunteered to go in his place, just as Takinawa-sensei had dismissed class five minutes early.
As Light found his father\u2019s cell number in his contacts, he couldn\u2019t help but ponder over it; if Mari said she wasn\u2019t supposed to be in Japan, then why was she here? How did she end up outside his high school knocked out? No one was around her, and the cut on her head looked very recent. He sure didn\u2019t hear a noise from any bus on the school grounds. All this, including all the fear she displayed on her face, had him inwardly examining each piece of detail, trying to make sense of what she\u2019s said to him and her panicky behavior...
I would have heard her cry out or a scuffle. I\u2019m always sitting in a desk by that big window...I\u2019ve gone over this several times, and I still<\/b> don\u2019t get it.<\/i>
After a few rings, he heard Soichiro Yagami\u2019s voice speak to him in Japanese. \u201cLight? I heard about what happened at school today, on the news. Where are you now?\u201d<\/i>
Light glanced to the American woman (he was sure very sure her accent was American) as he replied to him back in their home language. \u201cI\u2019m with the civilian who got hurt. She woke up...about ten minutes ago, and told me her name was Mari, and that she is from the United States. Maryland, to be more specific.
\u201cI saw a cut on her forehead , with a slight bruising, from what I\u2019ve seen. She might have a concussion, and she cannot remember how she got hurt or ever coming to Japan. She\u2019s really needs help, Dad.\u201d<\/i>
\u201cFrom what you are saying, I\u2019d have to agree. Since this is a head injury, this could get very complicated.\u201d<\/i>
\u201cRight, and because of the amnesia, it may be some time until she can tell us why she\u2019s here, and how she got hurt.\u201d<\/i> The human brain itself alone was one of the most complex out of all parts of the body.
Light wanted to help her because not only he cared, but he was both very curious and intrigued. He wanted to know what happened to her, had to know. Of course, it was the right thing to do\u2014but in seeing how scared she was had affected him, left an impact. She didn\u2019t know what was going on, and had a bit of difficulty to trust both Dr. Suki and himself. People say and do all sorts of things when scared...but I\u2019ve never seen anyone as scared<\/i> as she is.<\/i>
\u201cI\u2019ll be over with someone to take her statement and yours soon. What room is the girl in?\u201d<\/i> asked Dad.
Dr. Suki was performing a simple test on Mari\u2019s vision, to keep both eyes on her finger to see if she just saw one finger moving slowly around her eyes. He was watching her say, \u201cOne, one, one, one...\u201d She was also watching him every now and then, probably just trying to listen to him talk on the phone, he assumed.
Light could feel her hand clinging to his. He saw her wince in pain a little as she answered more of Dr. Suki\u2019s questions. \u201cRoom 206-B. Second floor. I\u2019m with her right now. She had a bit of a panic attack, and it took some encouragement to earn her trust\u2014but she\u2019s calmed down somewhat.\u201d<\/i>
\u201cWhat is last thing you remember before waking up here,\u201d Dr. Suki asked Mari.
Mari replied as she only gave Dr. Suki nervous glance. \u201cI was on the end of the street where I live, in Maryland of the U.S. I-I was waiting for the public bus so I could get a ride to work.\u201d
His father on the phone said, \u201cThat\u2019s very good to know. I\u2019m proud of you Light, for helping her. Could you stay with her a while longer until we get there?\u201d<\/i>
Light heard Dr. Suki ask another question. \u201cIs there anything else you can remember? Do you know what day of the week it is?\u201d
He saw Mari very slightly shaking her head side to side, not really making an effort of the movement. \u201c...It\u2019s Wednesday, and I remember waiting for the bus by myself.\u201d She looked between Dr. Suki and Light nervously. \u201cIt is<\/i> Wednesday, right?\u201d
\u201cYes it is,\u201d Dr. Suki assured, and gently patted her arm. \u201cThis means you haven\u2019t been unconscious for very long.\u201d
Mari\u2019s previous reply was making him think that over. This matches to how recent the cut on her forehead was.. This means she could have only lost at least six to twelve hours. If...if someone had attacked<\/b> her, and brought her over to Japan, then maybe she never she really didn\u2019t<\/b> intend to travel all the way over here...<\/i> He could feel a small flame of anger beginning to burn inside him, towards the person who could have done this to Mari. What kind of bastard out there would kidnap her and leave her out in the open? Maybe something happened, something he didn\u2019t expect, and had ran off in a hurry.<\/i>
\u201cLight, are you still there?\u201d<\/i>
He blinked, realizing he forgot about his father for a minute. \u201cYeah, still here. Sorry. I was sort of listening in on what Mari-san was telling Dr. Suki, the doctor that helped me. Remember her? It was when I was very sick with the flu.\u201d<\/i>
\u201cYes, I remember. You couldn\u2019t go to school for a week because of that.\u201d<\/i>
\u201cYeah, that was really bad... Anyway, I don\u2019t think there will be a problem in staying, because Mari-san has asked me not to leave. I think she\u2019s still a bit shaken up. This can\u2019t be easy for her to cope with.\u201d<\/i>
\u201cNo, it can\u2019t. That\u2019s why I need you to help her stay calm.\u201d<\/i>
Light looked again to Mari as he feel her grip on his hand becoming a bit firmer. He felt determination and empathy toward her as he replied to Dad while squeezing her hand in return. He also felt a bit discomfort but he suppressed that emotion. \u201cYes, I\u2019ll do that. See you soon.\u201d<\/i>
He ended the call and wondered if Mari understood his phone conversation in Japanese. It didn\u2019t seem like it, for she looked like she didn\u2019t have a clue as to what they had talked about.
Dr. Suki had a few more questions to ask Mari. \u201cYou hurt anywhere else? Do you feel faint, or dizzy?\u201d
It seemed like she was thinking that over carefully before answering, and she had let go of Light\u2019s hand. \u201cNo, no, and no.\u201d
Dr. Suki noticed how much she was trying to lay still. \u201cAre you in a lot of pain right now?\u201d
\u201cYes... Whatever had hit me, or whatever accident this is, it had to be one very, very hard surface.\u201d
She frowned, looking very concerned with this patient. \u201cYou really don\u2019t know how that happened, do you?\u201d
There was a slight tremble he heard in Mari\u2019s voice. \u201cNo. No idea at all.\u201d Her eyes lowered, looking away from her, then moved a thick strand of curly brown hair aside. \u201cSo, Light... is your father going to help out in this?\u201d
\u201cHe\u2019s on his way. There\u2019s no need to worry about that, Mari-san,\u201d Light told her. He made sure to sound very calm, someone she could place her trust in, because he really wanted to help her.
\u201cMs. Mari, I feel you may have a concussion, and given the amount of pain you\u2019re in, you\u2019ll have to stay here for the night. The only memories you have lost are the most recent ones.\u201d
A slight scowl appeared on Mari\u2019s face in hearing the good doctor\u2019s diagnosis. \u201cThat means I\u2019ll have to stay awake for some hours without sleep.\u201d
\u201cYes. If you do sleep, there\u2019s a risk that you may not be able to wake up. Especially since you had an open cut on your forehead.\u201d Dr. Suki\u2019s eyes were very gentle and warm, from the way Light could remember when he first met her.
\u201cI understand... I just wish I knew what happened.\u201d For a moment, she glared at them. Was she looking for someone to blame? To Light, it sure seemed that way, but he didn\u2019t take it personally. He knew she wasn\u2019t mad at either of them, but much more so at the situation she woke up to discover herself in.
\u201cYou\u2019ll get through this, Mari-san.\u201d He made sure not to sound like he was putting any pressure on her. He had no intent at all to do it, because that wouldn\u2019t help anyone. She would have felt threatened and started to freak out again. \u201cAs difficult as this is, all you can do is try to relax and recover. Just as the concussion is only temporary, the memory loss due to any heavy impact should be also be temporary.\u201d
At will, he could recall the advanced psychology lessons he learned in relation to the human brain and how it functioned. The heavy blow and trauma would put a block on her memories, obviously.<\/i>
\u201cThat\u2019s right. This is only a precaution... I think your head might need to be x-rayed, to see if there are any fractures.\u201d Dr. Suki lowered her gaze in thought for a moment, before reestablishing eye contact with her distressed patient. \u201cFrom a scale of one to ten, ten being the most, how would you rate the amount of pain you\u2019re feeling right now?\u201d
Mari was quick to answer that question. She sounded very stressed, and kept looking between her and Light. \u201cA definite ten. Raising my voice...or sudden movement, it triggers pain I can hardly stand.\u201d
Light remembered how it had to hurt when she sat up in bed so fast, then wincing and hissing out a profane word just after. \u201cI think you should help prepare her for an X-ray, Doctor, and do whatever you can to help her feel more comfortable.\u201d
Dr. Suki looked at Mari, her dark brown eyes gentle and caring. \u201cI\u2019ll return shortly with something to at least help ease the pain.\u201d
\u201cI\u2019d appreciate that greatly. Thank you,\u201d Mari said to her.
Dr. Suki left soon after that, promising she would be right back. Light remained seated and looked back to Mari after she left. As Dad said, it was important to help her stay calm as he possibly can. Light knew he should, for it would only prove to be a very bad outcome if he tried to see if she could answer any questions about what happened back at school. The notebook... No, that might not be a good idea to discuss about it now. It\u2019s inappropriate.<\/i>
He noticed her watching him, as if she might be wondering what he was thinking. She was hesitant before speaking to him again, and letting go of his hand. The question she had seemed as if she had been reading his mind just now. \u201cLight... Did I have anything I might have been carrying, when you found me? I remember having my purse, my canvas bag, my sturdy-looking lunch container, another phone, from where I was... I just want that concern out of the way, please.\u201d
From the bit of a stammer in her voice, Mari was clearly worried about her belongings, yet she was being nice and polite about that. From what Light could observe, he figured she was trying to get a clue as to what may have happened to her. Anyone would have been able to see that though, not just him.
Light listened to her very brief descriptions carefully before replying. From late November 2005 to May 2006 (I believe) was when my family and I had to put up with all this bogus, ridiculous, and UNFAIR crap dealing with bullies for police officers and detectives, along with cowardly two faced staff and faculty from the high school my dad had taught several classes at. He was also the assistant director for Calvert High's main stage theatre productions.
My dad had been very<\/i> falsely accused of sexual harrassment by this very troubled girl who wasn't one of his students but he had tried to help her anyway to stop cutting herself. He helped get her onto the \"It's Academic!\" team--and also got into something a bit dumb by writing this story with her through emails. She wrote in some graphic content that her father had apparently seen, along with who knows what on one of her online journals. The guy freaked and his daughter panicked and said my dad had molested her. The teacher lady that had a classroom not far from my dad's advised her to go directly to the police, in which violated protocol to report to Human Resources first, before getting any police involved.
Some teachers and<\/i> a former principal who no longer work there had been pining on how to get rid of him, because they were so envious about the numbers of students my dad taught enrolling into colleges and the other teachers' students weren't--or some shit like that. They all knew about that girl and the principal fired Dad before he could ask or even figure out what the hell for. A very asshole move.
One afternoon in, like mid-November, I was home by myself watching TV when there was a knock on the door. I opened it to find two men from the police that told me they had a search warrant and that it had something to do with my dad. I had NO CLUE about that troubled kid or what my dad had been doing in writing her emails. I remember being very confused as I was asked to stand still with my arms apart as this woman police officer searched me for a weapon. Still unsure what this was really about, they asked me some questions. I remember them asking me how old I was, and there were also these guys who were wearing black ski masks. They came in and started to search the house. Lots of questions were going through my head, at least one of them in relation to somebody who used to be be one of the junkies that lived in the house way before my family and I moved there.
I know my dad had quit drinking over 14 years ago and stopped doing drugs before I was even born, so there was no way<\/i> he could have gotten mixed up in anything like that!
Sometime like an hour or so later, Mom came home and no one searched her for a weapon--WTF? And it was then when Mom got home in which we both got to read the packet of a search warrant that contained the troubled kid's statement about Dad fondling her. I, of course, found it impossible to believe any word from it. Mom couldn't believe it either!
The cops left, but then came back sometime after Dad got home when we were talking about getting an attorney to some family friends Mom was calling. That's when we realized they had tapped into our home phone. Dad was asked to take off his watch before being cuffed and taken to jail. At first the bond was a quarter of a million dollars<\/i> until after the bail hearing when members of the community showed up with my mom and me to stand up for him. The bond had been lowered to fifty thousand after that.
I'll pause to say this all happened ON HEARSAY<\/b>! Her words of delusion against my dad's. All the infuriating ridiculousness makes me feel irritated right now as I'm thinking back to this. The emailing my dad did with this girl was nowhere nearly<\/i> as bad as all of what these cops had put us through.
Well, Dad was released and back home, and then for a while during this open file case, more crazy shit<\/i> was going on from the cops. See, the Calvert County Sheriff's office weren't being real cops. Again, they were being bullies, and their investigation was sloppy, so sloppy<\/i>. The head dectective in particular was this bigshot from Washington D.C. during this election thing, and he thought he could score for the big win and have Dad back in jail.
I'll bet he felt like a damned fool by the time all this madness ended that next summer. He got his ass fired, from what I remember.
For about 2 months at least, mostly December and January of 2006, they had confiscated the downstairs computer with the dial up internet way before I got wireless connected to this laptop, and one other one. They found those emails between my dad and that kid who was too scared to tell her dad the truth. They tampered<\/b><\/i> with whatever evidence they could find and pieced together big fat lies out of ONLY A STORY from those emails. NONE of what had been written ever happened! What the girl said on the date in which the supposed sexual harrassment was actually the day of a staff meeting Dad was in. We had witnesses and evidence to back that up, while all they really had was squat<\/i>.
If we hadn't double checked and asked for the officer in charge of holding the computers in custody at the Sheriff's Office, then those computers would have been auctioned off.
They also hacked into my mom's bank account and took out a thousand dollars, to which the bank had recovered later, so they could get a rise out of Dad and catch him doing something to them in revenge or whatever the fuck it was they assumed he'd do. Both of my parents had to get new debit cards and PIN numbers because of those assholes.
And what about small number of teachers and the principal who let all this even start<\/i>? They pretty much clammed up about it. The principal from what I can remember wouldn't even go out of his way to see my mom and me, the coward, and these people KNEW<\/b><\/i> Dad was at a staff meeting on the date the girl claimed she had been violated.
They had<\/i> to know the shit was going to hit their fan. They had<\/i> to know they'd end up losing their jobs over this.
Between my parents and myself, we had found a lot of evidence to show Dad's attack dog of a lawyer while the deputy dogs were just pulling out lies out of their asses. We got this software to recover whatever lost emails we could find that the Sheriff's Office deputy dogs tried to get rid of.
I heard it from Mom or Dad the girl had a Myspace and a Xanga account. I found her Myspace account through her email address. (I never met this girl by the way, not at all. I don't think I'd ever want to. Back then, I knew I was so mad at her quite a few times.)
Mom printed out her pictures she saw on the kid's Myspace for Dad's lawyer to see and tell the head detective she's no innocent Barbie princess.
The case never really went to a full out trial. All charges, the one from the girl and her family, and<\/i> the BS ones the deputy dog bullies came up with were dropped. Dad didn't go to jail, but was let go on unsupervised probatation basically, on some conditions; to stay away from that kid and never visit or teach in Calvert County Public Schools ever again. None of which he had any problems with.
That's all been over now, and we didn't sue anyone. We were just so very relieved once it was all over.

These people are so much less brighter than me, and persistent. Dad and I already told them all we possibly could on that, and gave them the time of day to find and read what they wanted to know from the receipt we have from the post office that's PROOF of us sending back their product.
However, it doesn't seem they're willing to let that go. Not ever. They clearly want to annoy Dad and me to the grave about this, and want me to buy something from them.
This morning, at first I thought this was going to be a caller similar to the kind that won't take my cell phone number off their list to tell me I have compensation for taking certain kinds of birth control pills when I haven't taken any. Sometimes they call to tell me about my obviously false<\/i> records for taking birth control pills. Seriously<\/i>?? That's messed up.
Well, anyway, when I found out it was someone who called me from that septic tank company again, I got so annoyed. I told the douchebag that they got their product back. We went over the post office receipt and all that. He wanted to know why I sent the septic tank back. I told him.
I lost count of how many times Dad and myself have reminded them about this. I know it's not 100, nor is it 10. It's roughly somewhere in between.
The guy then started talking about septic tanks getting replaced. I realized they wanted me to buy their product, and hung up<\/i> on him.
No matter how many times they'll call, the answer from us will always be the same. Like the Snapple commercial: They get NOTHINNNNNG<\/b><\/i>!!

I was told they'll do their best with the supervision in the near future. I sure as hell hope they'll bring flashlights and extra batteries. If it gets so dark out, so you say, then why aren't your supervisors using flashlights?? You dunder-heads! >.> It's not rocket science or anything like that.
As for the plants I grow and cherish, FROM NOW ON during concert events, when it's close to closing time, I'll just bring them inside before locking up and turning the lights off.
Aside from that, I earned a little money and got more of my Death Note story written. I rewrote chapter 2 entirely as a nice builder to the emotional awesomeness that is chapter 3 I started!! I'm quite happy about that, and looking forward to posting chapter 2 later.
I had this picture sitting in the laptop hard drive and finally uploaded it on tinypic about a half hour or so ago.
Cute, right? I love the brown coloring and his beady dark eye there! This little guy flew into my bookstore, confused. I think he was a juvenile bird. This pic was taken last Thursday. He kept flying and fluttering his wings around the glass inside by the back doors that always stay closed, because there's boxes and too much stuff for anyone to get past. Then when I first tried to guide him out the front door but he nearly flew into one of the windows. I had to carry him to the way he flew in. I'm glad he didn't put up too much of a fuss when I helped and then let him fly out.
Another bird, a brown wren, flew in today but he had no trouble at all finding the way out like the bird from last Thursday.<\/a>
Oh and I've been catching up on my LJ scrap booking a little, before doing more roleplay writing or getting ready to add more to my AMV. On Saturday near the area where I work there was some country music concert. Overnight, people who drank canned and bottled beer had made such a mess<\/i> around the garden statues I had for sale. Some of them broke their beer bottles on the wood platform, knocked some of the statues off it, AND made a mid-sized hole in it! They must've been so drunk, those assholes. Why wasn't anybody supervising them? I had to clean up their trash the next day. Thank GOD the statues were okay.
No, I was not happy about that, nor was I happy about someone taking one of my strawberry plants. In fact, I was pissed. Who knows where it is now!
I wouldn't call those people animals, because the crows, other birds, squirrels, and rabbits that live outside within the area wouldn't do that kind of shit. I think I'm going to have to talk with Larry or Kay (the people who own the Marketplace area) about this when I go back to work tomorrow. (I couldn't do it yesterday because I was busy and because of the busy auction crowd.) I REALLY don't want this to happen again in the future. Not ever.

When they'll grow up and change for the better, I honestly don't know. But it was fun hanging out and playing tabletop with them, at least. I'll still pray for them.

For a little while at home, we've given the downstairs bedroom to a very young couple, Nick and Camille. Very nice and fun people to be around. They're such a cute couple. They're not married I don't think. They're just together and have been staying with my parents and me because they don't have anywhere else to go and are trying to find jobs, to find some stability and earn enough to at least get an apartment.
They've done some reckless bad stuff and got in trouble with the cops. I think they both finally gotten a reality check because those former neighbors (to which they took their car for a while without getting any permission a while back) and pressed charges on Nick.
Camille's been around here at home, but Nick is still in prison unless someone pays a thousand dollars to bail him out. He's been there since Sunday.
I've been praying for both of them; that Camille makes it through on her end separated from Nick and that Nick gets the public defender he'll need. I believe they've both realized that they have problems. I definitely know Camille has admitted about their problems when we were talking last night while playing some tabletop games.
They love tabletop games, just about as much as Mom and I do. That partially explains why I haven't updated and read your entries for a while. We've introduced them to a bunch of games we've played (Five Crowns, The Amazing Labyrinth, Forbidden Island, Zombie Dice, Fandooble, etc). They even went with us to meetup last Friday, and had a great time!
The other reason I haven't been on much is being in the Creative Zone. I've been writing on the serious Death Note story more (and I'm ALMOST done in doing the final revisions for that first chapter - I realize it still needs a bit of work), and last night I added a bit more to my AMV. I guess it's about 30% done? I've got up to the first line of the second verse done of the song I picked.
Anyway, Camille chose not to go to the AA meeting with Dad. I think she said she'd go to a later meeting... Right now, I believe she's still with a friend of hers to get a public defender for Nick. She misses him terribly.
As long as she doesn't end up getting into anymore trouble. Because if she does, she'll have to pack up their stuff and leave. That's what had been agreed on. My parents and I would rather not get mixed up into situations relating to them doing more stupid things.
I've still yet to cover those hard times in 2005, that involved deputy dogs for police and my dad getting falsely accused of something he didn't do. I'm currently concerned with these two people I've gotten along with very well. -Hulk X90 (Josh's bot), pushed Allan's Twitch bot onto this conveyor part of the board that took him off. Allan could not do anything to stop that from happening because Twitch was powered down for the whole round.
-Poor Rich. His bot, Spinbot, could NOT get past those spiraling conveyors at all. At some point Allan said to him, \"You're just hanging out over there. What have you been doing? We're<\/i> trying to win the game<\/i>!\"
-There was this one wall that Bob's Zoombot kept bumping into more than once! As he had to use the restroom real quick, Allan teased that Bob couldn't go because a wall was in his way.
-Eric's bot, Twonky, kept getting special improvement cards because it kept moving and spinning over this small cluster of double wrench spaces. That was crazy. XD (Mom's Squashbot got two of those, and Josh's Hulk X90 got one, but Eric had the most.)
-Allan's color is always yellow if there are any colored playable pieces in a game. If yellow is available, he always chooses that color<\/i>. The damage tokens are yellow so at some point Bob said, \"Here's your yellow, Alan!\"
-It was kinda adorable when Charles said he had somewhere he had to be, but was reluctant to go!
