Triton, Watchmaker and Scout? Both the U.S. and NATO have over many years made many claims about their long-range drones and their respective capabilities, but the truth with this war with Iran, we have discovered that they can only really operate in daylight!Which is a big setback for all who thought they could see and act in the dark, taking out certain terrorists, when they really can only do it by day and twilight, meaning that this very expensive kit is very limited and the photography is still unknown of what value it is to the user? Some of the smaller drones that the public can get access to is proving to have better quality image or filming, but they lack range and can be easily taken out or shot down!

Springing forward with your take on the Spring? We may still be in winter, but the season of spring is about to burst on us with an explosion of color and the joys that brings to many can be exaggerated on film and now the digital editing, but one still is able to enjoy it as it is!With our imagination we can achieve beautiful takes from views to Macro photography and all those out of focus pictures and films that can also give atmosphere to objects near and far? Most new cameras and phones now give to us the ability to film and we can film anything within reason of what kind of lenses we have aircraft to nature, flowers, to people and building, social studies and much more and all of it without even the need for filters, allowing us to hit you tube and many other platforms!

When the cold gets to your Camera? This was a recent problem for me last month, when we had a cold spell and my Bridge camera just did not want to do its job, eventually it must have just warmed up and everything was fine!Back in the day one worked with a manual SLR and then moved on to a semi-digital, but apart from the weather one did not have the same problems and despite the limitation of only 36 shots shots per roll of film, one carried three camera;s with different film, monochrome, color and color slide and I think looking back did quite well?Moving on to medium format one carried two cameras, both manual one with 120 color for 12 shots, and the other 120 split frame for 15 shots mono, so that was a large bag of up to five cameras per day!But today one can have a large capacity card of 512 Gb and make plenty of films, so much can be done with filters and one recommend two cameras should be sufficient make sure to keep them warm?

New mobile phone or a new lens for your Camera? This now seems to be the future of photography, with developing and editing packages for all inspiring film making and photographs! The mirror less camera and the mobile phone looks like the way ahead, since nearly everything goes to several platforms, from X to tik tok and you tube nearly live? The mirror less camera and the mobile phone looks like the way ahead, since nearly everything goes to several platforms, from X to tik tok and you tube nearly live?!enjoying good fun and professions!

Is there really much new tech for 2026?Now that the digital age in photography is establishes, is it starting to slow down or is their more emphasis being put on to phone cameras to replace the dslr and Bridge formats!New lenses seem to appear all the time and the used market remains boyant so that manual cameras are still popular, but one has to wonder how long the novelty of them will last with the prices of film, slides and developing rising all the time?Snaps and portraits will remain the normal for this season ans winter filming and photography will continue!

How do our cameras work in the Cold?It is a problem wither you are using a DSLR or a Bridge, they just haze up, so it might be wise to warm them up a bit in our bags, before they come out!On the other had the cell phone cameras do not have this problem, since we are holding them or have them in a warm pocket, but in other cases there can be real issues that just spoil the film or the image apart from the cold sun glare is another issue? One hopes that no one will give up after getting their new device but rather persevere and learn from error and the challenges!

Capturing speed is the Essence?Something coming towards you only needs a shutter speed of 1/250 second, but after that its fast even 1/2000 is still not enough to get a good image, racing bikes, hockey, boxing, tennis and athletics!Skill in using manual functions allows quality variety to get the best shots, over that of using automatic and all that one can do to manipulate the digital image?Learning the basics is still of great value, but learning what can be done with digital is also now being considered, since most people are working in the format and in some countries there is a big debate about it!

If you like the shades of orange, yellow and brown this is the time of the year to get your camera out and enjoy, before they shed their last beauty to the winter nakedness and another challenge even to the seasoned photographer? The mobile cameras on phones are getting better and so is urban photography, with a good selection of filters and various apps, something bland can be really jazzed up!With the New year and Christmas much new kit will be coming on the market and despite the slump in sales, more so with U.S. tariffs I think their is to be a new revolution in the field?

Photography is getting Easier? It may seem that way in the Media, but the truth is that we still need cameras to deal with speed of aircraft and wild-life to capture the best images that the mobile cell phone is now picking up on, but are not quite their yet!For some it has been a lovely, but very hot summer and some dramatic footage of the fires and smoke across Europe has appeared, but its not been a great time, with so many losing homes and businesses? This new tech will be full of gimmicks, but other packages for editing for the professional may only improve and for others more options will lead to the bases of investing perhaps in something more serious!

The Chamchat Earthquake and Volcano? One supposes those trying to get from Western -Russia might find it a hard journey across Siberia even by civil aircraft, so we may be more dependent on the locals, who so far have done very well in what is believed to be isolated!Travel is very much the norm for the media, but no so for anyone who wants to go from A to Z in many countries around the world as we see now with the Cambodia-Thailand border clashes or getting into Myanmar is in danger of being killed?

Europe is now Boiling? The battle is underway between the practicality of your phone over having a bridge type camera, than a DSLR or other! With the demise of the compact in the west, but some of the new mirror less cameras, may fill in that need, but again we have to go back to the mobile phone being light and easy to use and new instant software is always getting updated?

Fashion, home design, sports and Advertising? We may be moving into the world of artificial intelligence, but not all is what is seems in some of the generated photography and this is starting to worry many people that a false impression is being created that is not there! The first time that basic A.I. was used was with NASA and their Mars lander sending back false color images, that lightened up a generally dark world to one that enhanced details, but the reality is it is generally a dusty one? With modelling we have very skinny woman that encourage many youngster to start the journey of eating disorders in wanting to be like them and famous in other areas images generated are more than false and so we have to come back to the human eye and hands to get the best of everything that we have discussed today!

Into the colors of Spring and Summer? This is the time of the year when there is an explosion of colors of nature in the Northern-hemisphere and much to see, even the machines light up with the sharpness of the sun and we can all diverge here and there with our cameras! The mobile or cell phones are getting better by the day and filming things is now much easier than it ever has been, but so is the ease of a light device over that of a camera and phones can be much more discreet in image making than ever before?Weather is amazing at this time of the year for good color casting a dramatic background and much can be gained in the experience of learning new things, if not teaching others old tricks even with the manual settings on our fancy digital cameras!!!

Ukrainian-Russian war Photography? With the ongoing conflict, despite peace talks in Saudi-Arabia the drones are still flying and one has to wonder how bad this conflict really is and how much of it is firing on their own people! It is so hard to know anything in the European media now wither it is true or not and images just cannot be trusted since we only here and see one side of this ongoing conflict? At one time back in the sixties and seventies war photography was amazing, but today it is lost with the internet and a twisted western society only wanting to express their views!

We have come to the end of what is possible in the current form of digital technology and with U.S. tariffs prices will rise, so why not buy cheaper second-hand of what is on the market place or even return to film/slides and digitize them after development? Some cameras are going out of popularity now, such as the compacts, many manufactures are not making them and spare parts cannot be accessed as they once were! But the Bridge cameras and DSLRS are holding their ground and remain traditional favorites of most in photography, JPEG being the normal format and RAW more for the professionals and those working with the digital equivalent of medium and larger plate formats?

What new tech is in your bag this year?Everyone is talking about A.I. as the new big thing in the world of computing and image manipulation and how the self thing machines of the future will be able to inter-act with humanity! But the question is how will effect photography, if at all and is it in any of the new cameras that are now presents over the New Year and Christmas and will it effect us in what it can do?Drones may have something of a mind of their own in the civilian marketplace in the next few years for mapping and maybe illegal activities, but these are still baby talk early days for this technology, unless one is wrong?

What is in the sack for you this Christmas?Photography is a great hobby from childhood to old age and it covers a vast spectrum of interests and forms and not all is to with the actual taking of the picture, but also the development and cropping of that image wither professionally done or just for fun.The family or pet snap to more technical images, art and delving into other reverse development, slide are still relevant despite the digital age and the polaroid and many new formats make the whole subject more and more varied? So what presents will be coming to some this year, new tech, novelties and specialist cameras, if not a classic from the early days? Most DSLR's now have filming and videos cover everything from aviation to underwater and much more and so photography has expanded with software to create a who new field from the innovative to the amature!Seasons, Christmas greetings, best wishes for the New Year to all!

Snow on trees, close up of the wonderful Snow Flake.Macro photography is a minute world of shapes and complex patters, as we see with wonder to the human eye the complex structures of the snow flake? But there is much more to see in what seems a monochrome world, with color standing out, it is also a time of the year where we may not need to photo shop our images only trim them!Close up of insects and other small things is a challenge throughout the summer, with flowers, but in winter there are also flowers and small creatures that are worth to effort to also capture?

Naked Trees? The seasons are changing once more and the challenges of adapting is again in the photographic eye, with silhouettes being at the fore front of one of many aspects! Manuel control in digital is not mentioned much, since it is so easy most of the time to let the camera do the work for you and this may be a limitation to keeping those creative skills alive? With editing software being built into most camera now, more so at the top range, the home studio with desktop and laptop may be coming to an end, but not for all of us, who enjoy the comfort of taking our time to see how we can enhance our images or even make a little film from the stills?
