PHAB is committed to research, evaluation, and data to drive quality improvement and build evidence around public health systems.
Data Portal
PHAB’s accreditation process generates the only set of peer-reviewed data about public health capacities. We encourage you to explore these data to learn more about how health departments operate and view aggregate data about health department capacity.
Visit the PHAB Data Portal to learn more about:
For Accredited Health Departments: View your own data, generate customized reports, and benchmark your accreditation assessments against other health departments.
For Researchers and the Public: Get a sense of general health department performance or compare data using filters.
PHAB remains committed to respecting the confidentiality of health departments that apply for accreditation. To protect the confidentiality of applicant health departments, all data on the public-facing portal are aggregated (shown in groups). Read more about the data request process.
If you have questions or suggestions about the portal, email [email protected].
Evaluation
PHAB partners with NORC at the University of Chicago to conduct independent evaluations to assess the outcomes of national public health accreditation and gain an understanding of the accreditation program’s strengths, opportunities, and impacts. PHAB uses these findings to continuously improve the accreditation program.
