PHA4GE convened its second biennial conference in collaboration with the International Pathogen Surveillance Network (IPSN) Global Partners Forum. The joint event took place from the 27th - 29th of October 2025 at Century City Convention Centre in Cape Town, South Africa.
The Public Health Alliance for Genomic Epidemiology (PHA4GE) is a global partnership dedicated to advancing the use of genomics and bioinformatics in public health. We champion open, reproducible, and accessible approaches that support stronger surveillance improved outbreak response, and more equitable participation in global public health.
PHA4GE works collaboratively with public health agencies, academic institutions, and international partners to develop shared standards, guidance and best practices that enable genomics to be used effectively across diverse settings.
Standardized data structures and interchange formats are critical to the development of an open software ecosystem, and will empower more participants to analyze and govern their own data, regardless of resource status.
