I have both a Nook, and a Kindle. Today while trying to delete a app from my kindle, I had to chat with Amazon customer service. I must say that the difference in dealing with Barnes and Noble customer service and Amazon customer service is like night and day. I have pretty much given up on the Nook, and the only reason I still use it is because I have a few books on there that I would have to re-buy the entire series if I wanted to add them to my Kindle.

Kindle customer service has Nook customer service beat by a mile. Right now I am one happy Amazon Kindle customer.

that when I buy books from Loose-id I can only buy them in one format. With Loose-id, I have to pick the format before purchase. I am stuck with that format. After purchasing, it does not give you an option to download any other formats. Which means that unless I convert the book myself I have to re-purchase the book in the new format I want.

At all the other sites I purchase books from I can choose after I purchase what format I want, and then if I want to download the other formats at any other time I can.

I own a Nook, so all my books that I have bought since purchasing the Nook have been in .epub format. Ray is getting me the Kindle Fire HD, which takes the .mobi format. I know that I can convert books through Calibre, but sometimes some formatting gets all screwed up in the process. Unless I am doing something wrong. There are certain books that I want to take with me no matter what device I am carrying.

I thought about buying a android tablet so I can have both the Nook and Kindle apps. (I won't buy a ipad.) My daughter has one, and she says that they are nice, but the battery life sucks. I've read that alot. Maybe I'm just to fussy.

but now most of my favorite authors from Silver Publishing have left there and are scattered all over the place. I have books that I had scheduled to buy. Now those books are missing from the website, and when I search for them they are unavailable or being offered elsewhere, with different covers and new release dates. It is confusing to say the lease.

Luckily I've found authors over at Total-E-Bound, but there are a few I can't find, or haven't decided what they are going to do. I don't buy books right away when they are put on my list. I do eventually buy them though. I never thought that I would have to go looking for them again at other sites. All I can say is thank goodness for Goodreads. I was able to find one of the books that I want to buy. It is being re-released in Feb. I guess I can wait that long.

In other news, I am planning on upgrading my ereader in the next few weeks. I have decided to go with the Kindle Fire HD. It has a camera on it and I can add Skype as a app. It can also be connected to my tv through a HDMI cable. The Nook HD does neither of these things. I will still use my Nook Color though. I have been letting my mom use my 1st edition Nook w/3g. She can understand how to work it better than her Nook Color, which is sitting on a shelf in her room. I only charged it once to make sure it still worked. She kept telling me it didn't work, but I truly think she didn't remember how to use it. It works fine.

So I went exploring over on the app store on the Nook. I found this silly little game called Snood. I haven't played it in years. So I bought it. and have been playing it for about 2 hours. The grand kids love it. I actually have the original game on a cd somewhere. I bought it years ago. to play on my pc.

I had to replace my power cord for the third time today. The little metal piece that inserts into the Nook is flimsy at best. The problem is that you can't buy a different cord for it to charge the Nook with, it has to be the cord from Barnes and Noble. It use to be that when you replaced the cord, you had to buy the ac adapter and the cord together at 24.95. Now you can buy the power cord by itself at 9.95, which to me is still expensive, for something that I end up having to replace every 6 months or so.

Ray bought the Nook Color for me for my birthday last year, which is at the end of September. I haven't even had the thing for a year. and already have gone through 3 cords. I think the next tablet type device I get will probably be the Nexus 7 or something similar. I can have both the Nook and the Kindle app on it, and be able to decide which place I want to buy my books from. There are to many times that I try to find books at Barnes and Noble, but they are only available at Amazon, which frustrates the hell out of me.

I've never bought books from Google Books. As far as I can see the prices are usually about the same.

I keep buying books that are listed over at Pixel of Ink. I don't know if I will ever read them. I'm just accumulating a collection it seems. :D Most of them are free.

It's not like I can read them on my Nook, they are Kindle books, and sometimes I just don't feel like going through all the trouble of uploading them to Calibre so I can convert them. I do have Kindle for pc on my computer, but I don't feel like sitting at the computer and reading. I should probably invest in one of those tablets so I can have both the Nook and the Kindle apps on it. I can't put them on my phone. Lol...I'll never be able to read the print, even with my glasses on. O_o

I just went looking for a book over on B&N and Amazon that I can't find. It just came out about 6 months ago. So it has to be available somewhere. I really liked the cover.(surprise, surprise) It is called Loving Jacob by Lee Brazil, I'm going to have to do a more extensive search for it.

It must be self published, because there is no link to buy it anywhere. Sometimes that is more of a hindrance for me than a help. I'm like a slave to my computer if I buy stuff through Amazon. I don't own a Kindle, and if I want to read books that I get through Amazon, I have to read them with the Kindle for pc app. Calibre will convert some books to epub so I can put them on my Nook, but not all of them.

I guess it doesn't matter anyway, I need to be able to find the damn book first.

I put my reading wish list up a couple days ago, but have just recently purchased a few books that were not on the list. The first two both by erastes I have in my to buy list up on Goodreads. The first one, Muffled Drum is only 3.39 over at Barnes and Noble and is over 300 pages long. The next one Mere Mortals can also be found over at Barnes and Noble for 6.99 and is over 500 pages long. I haven't started them yet but will shortly.

The other author that I just bought is ka_mitchell I bought 4 of her books,

Bad Boyfriend, Bad Company, Regularly Scheduled Life and Not Knowing Jack All can be found both at Barnes and Noble and Samhain Publishing I bought them at B&N because I had a gift certificate that My husband gave me for Valentines Day. Along with a beautiful book entitled 100 Reasons Why I Love You. The gift certificate didn't last very long, and I will be in reading heaven for a few days.

I also added a few freebees to my reading list that I found out about through Pixel of Ink I clicked on something that caught my eye, then ended up getting two books that were free over at Amazon. I really like that people who bought this also bought this feature. The Reiver by Jackie Barbosa, and The Bride and the Brute by Laurel O'Donnell, both are Historical Romances, I have found myself indulging in them again. Thank God for Calibre because I can covert them to work on my Nook.

I got up on Twitter this morning because I clicked on someone new to follow, and low and behold everything has changed again. Did we know about these changes? I've been using my Nook most of the time to access Twitter, so this is the first time in a while that I've actually used my computer to get up there.

Over the last few days I've tried to purchase numerous books, only to find that they are only available on Amazon. I happen to own a Nook. You would think that authors would want their work to be available to everyone, not just one group of buyers.

It truly turns me off from certain authors who do this. Amazon is not the only book seller out there. Unfortunately these authors have lost my business permanently. I know that I am just one person and they really don't care, others will buy their books. The fact that in order to read your book, I have to buy a certain product or be chained to my computer to read it pisses me off.

that I love my Nook Color, but the USB cable/power cord is a piece of shit. I've had my Nook for a little over a month, and already I have to replace the cord. Michelle has already replaced 2 of them. The end that plugs into the Nook its self is flimsy, and all it would take is for you to hit it the wrong way and it would snap right off.

I checked up at the BN site and the reviews for the power cord are all the same. People are not happy with its performance. My question is after reading through over 200 reviews with only one person not having a problem. Why haven't they fixed it yet? It would stand to reason that if almost every review for a certain item says the same thing, you would want to rectify the situation. Unfortunately my power cord for my 1st edition Nook will not work with the Color Nook.

Now that I've finished my little mini rant, I need to add a few more books to my list

Hot Head by Damon Suede
As Time Goes By by Anna Lee
Home and Heart by Chris Quinton
Texas Winter by R.J. Scott
Fates Second Chance by A.J. Jarrett

These are just a few books that I've added to my list since I posted the new list Here

Hi Everyone. It's been a busy couple weeks. Ray got me a Nook Color for my birthday last month and I have been slowly adding my Fanfiction and other books that I've purchased over the years. I've been buying E-Books since 2006 so I have quite a collection to go through and decide figure out what I want to add and what I want to wait to add.

Now that the kids are in school and I have some time to my self, I find that I have more time to read and I am loving it. In the last month I've read quite a few books.

Sold To The Highest Bidder by Donna Alward This was a free e-book over at B&N for a while. I really enjoyed it. Surprisingly this one is not M/M. It was good though and the price was right.

Nine Tenths of the Law by L.A. Witt. Once again this book was free through B&N. This one was okay. Written in 1st person. Not one of my favorite ways to read a book.

In Service by J.C. Natal. and In Noble Pursuit A very good series, but has some graphic violence. I enjoyed this one a lot. I would definitely re-read these. In Service is not available in epub format at the publishers website but I bought both books at B&N.

Guarding Morgan by RJ Scott. This is book 1 in the Sanctuary series. I loved it. I must confess that the cover was a big drawl for me. Lol....What can I say I'm a cover whore. RJ Scott has not disappointed me yet.

A Shared Range and A Troubled Range both by Andrew Grey. This is another author that I enjoy reading a lot. and he did not disappoint me with these two books.

Belonging To Them, Plays Well With Others and Fill Her Up by Brynn Paulin, are all Multiple Partner stories, I wasn't sure I would like them but I was pleasantly surprised.

This is just the books, I've read in the last maybe 4 weeks. I've been re-reading some fan fiction too. I find myself always re-reading Rizabeau's Songs in the Key of Love & Sugar Plum Fairies series around this time of year. Maybe it has something to do with Moose and the holidays. :)

Now onto the listCollapse )

I'm talking about classics like Sweet Savage Love by Rosemary Rogers, Devil's Desire by Laurie McBain and Fires of Winter by Johanna Lindsey?

Some of my other favorite authors were

Jude Deveraux
Shirlee Busbee
Jennifer Blake
Virginia Henley
Shannon Drake
Bertrice Small

And my all time favorite Kathleen Woodiwiss. This list can go on and on because I can remember so many more.

There really needs to be a campaign to have all these great authors books put in digital format. They are no longer in print. Every once in a while I can find them at a yard sale, but not in the best of conditions. I miss having them. I want them back. I want them on my Nook.

I just downloaded one of Qafmaniacs videos onto my Nook and was able to watch it. I'm going to have to buy one of those micro sd cards so I can add other things like that or I'm going to be running out of room really quick

Lol...I'm reading books that my daughter has sent me through the "Lend Me" Feature on B&N for the Nook. Just started reading Giving Chase by Lauren Dane. I only have 14 days to read it once I've accepted. Lol...I wonder if she would be interested in any of the books that I have to offer her.

Goodreads added recommendations now according to what you have listed on your bookshelves. I just took a glance at some of the books that have been recommended for me.

OMG!! I can not raise my monthly book fund. Lol...Ray would kill me if I told him I want to spend more money on books.

I'm going to try to put up a book list sometime this weekend. I don't know if I'm going to add links. I think most of the books will be available at both Amazon and Barnes and Noble. I usually buy from B&N because I have the Nook, I do have Kindle for PC, and use it occasionally; otherwise I buy directly from the publisher.

I just downloaded 10 ebooks from amazon to my Kindle for PC program. They were all free. All from authors that I read years ago. Like Connie Mason, Leigh Greenwood, and Dawn MacTavish. I don't own a kindle, but can read them on the computer.

I've been finding a lot of bargain books, and free books for the Nook and the Kindle at this site called

Pixel of Ink

If I can get it for the Nook I will get it that way first, if not I will download it to my Computer and read it through the Kindle for PC app that allows me to read Kindle ebooks from my computer. I need to add all the new books that I just got to my Goodreads account. I haven't updated it in a week or so.

Released just today from Dreamspinner Press The Playwright by Carolyn Levine Topol I've read the first two books in this series and loved them. I plan on buying this book on Tuesday, when I can replenish my book fund. Lol...I spent over my limit this past month.

I just removed about 70GB of images and video off my computer and onto the external hard drive. I couldn't believe how much I had on here.

I only kept the images that I use the most of such as QAF caps, This seasons episodes of Trueblood some other videos that I plan on capping. I kept all my icons and Icon Challenge files. The rest I will have to access the external hard drive for. I don't

I should have plenty of room now for when The Secret Circle starts in 4½ weeks.

In the mean time I have things to read. I downloaded some New QAF Fanfiction that I transferred to my Nook today.

I bought Carolyn Topol's The Attorney when it was released and added that to my Nook also, along with TJ Klune's Bear, Otter & the Kid and Sins of the Father by DW Marchwell, which I bought today from Dreamspinner Press.
