Match Result: Chelsea 3, Everton 1

How Petr Fared: It seems Petr just cannot catch a break when it comes to the clean sheet department. It has been the case for a good part of this season. He did okay for most of the first and (about) a quarter into the second half (up until that sneaky goal in the 80th minute by Apostolos Vellios of Everton), but maybe it's the post-Euro 2012 qualifier stress talking.

Found this video post-Swansea:

I'm slightly concerned about the involuntary tick at 00:51, but I assume it's nothing to worry about!

I'm sure most of you know that an official Facebook for Petr exists, but there's been people asking whether it's him. To prove it, he uploaded a photo of himself from his webcam. It's under this LJ cut!

- Chelsea goalkeeper will miss start of season (Telegraph UK)

- Injured Petr Cech likely to miss start of season (ESPN Online UK)

Rather unfortunate for him to suffer the same injury (torn calf) that sidelined him in Chelsea's CL away match against Inter Milan last February (and for most of that month). This will clearly rule him out of the Community Shield, a couple of pre-season matches, and at least the first two Premier League matches of the 2010-11 season.

Match Result: Chelsea 1, Portsmouth 0

How Petr Fared:
He received many plaudits from the press for his performance in the final, particularly the penalty save he made in the second half that kept Chelsea in the game.

All in all, he closes his 09-10 Chelsea season on a high note (as most of it has been a bit of a roller coaster from good form to bad and back again to good). Until the 2010-11 season...

And to add to the FA Cup fun, two Petr articles written just before and after the final:

- Cech saves best for last and posts a fine display (The Independent)
